CVD? $? over 1 year 7 of 10 JPG/JPEG Comments: This would get full marks but unfortunately, it will not read DVD+R DL completely even when bitsetting to DVD-ROM is enabled. The media was Traxdata and the DVD was episodic, but it seems like it would not play anything on the second layer. A real shame...

CVD? $100 3 days 5 of 10 MP3 long filename Comments: If you use this to play normal pre-recorded DVDs then you get high quality sould/video with no sync problems between the two. However loading of MP3/JPEG discs is unbearably slow and navigation quite fiddly (much more so than a much cheaper player I had tried, this unfortunately had to go back due to unrelated problems). Also if you have older UK-purchased TV sets you won't have any joy with US-made discs - the player does not convert the NTSC signal on these discs to PAL so you will get either a B/W signal or a jumbled mess of a picture. (again the cheaper player mentioned above managed to do the conversion). If you get this just to play DVDs and have no TV-signal compatibility problems then it's worth a look - however if you want problem-free playing of US-made DVDs and intend to use the MP3/JPEG feature regularly, you might want to look elsewhere.

N/A No rating Comments: Toshiba SD-330E works fine for VCD but with SVCD the video and audio are out of synch. I use Easy CD Creator 6 to produce the CD's. Any ideas how to fix this?

CVD? $100 N/A 9 of 10 JPG/JPEG MP3 ID3 TAG Comments: Good points Picture quality is very good. Has yet to reject a disk, either original DVDs or DVD-Rs, DVD+Rs. Have not tried ultra cheap media, as most of my recordables are from the Ritek stable. Bad Points Unable to fast forward/rewind through an mp3 track. Slow rendering of mp3 lists when displaying tracks on screen, but it does display the ID3 info which is most handy. It is acceptably slow however.

N/A 10 of 10 JPG/JPEG Comments: Has played everything I've put into it. Bought from Amazon with multi region hack already done and played both region 1 and region 2 no problems. No code needed to change between them or anthing like that. My first DVD player and I'm very impressed. Easy to set up. Easy to use.

N/A 9 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-MP3 Comments: Although I am generally very pleased with my Toshibia 330 player I cannot seems to play some SVCD's recorded onto DVD-r. They play but the picture appears on a split screen. Any ideas?

N/A 9 of 10 JPG/JPEG Comments: Have now tried DVD+R and everything played just fine. Still a very good DVD player and still 80GBP from Amazon.

N/A 8 of 10 Comments: £80 from Amazon.co.uk - outstanding value. I use it a lot for SVCDs, and they mostly work fine (on both CD-R and CD-RW, encoded using TMPGEnc and burned using Nero). The only problems with SVCD are: - the player seems to behave much much better with high bitrates (>2Mb/s), it can get very jittery and freezes at lower bitrates - the audio starts out-of-sync, and you need to press the ANGLE button a few times to fix it - menus don't seem to work properly Picture quality is fantastic. Audio seems fine (although there's a sneaky factory default for "dynamic range reduction" or something that you probably want to disable). Amazon have supposedly already done the multi-region hack, although I haven't tested whether it works yet.

N/A No rating Comments: Mel I'm by far an expert but I think the black and white is not to do with the player. It is due to PAL/NTSC compatability. Pal is what we have in the UK, NTSC is what the American market has. If your TV only plays PAL (like my second TV set) you get a black and white picture. If you put your player on a TV that accepts NTSC it will be in colour. Hope this helps (and that im right) Good luck :)

Thumbs up on both accounts :) The player has a solid construction, clear manual and good remote all of which are unfussy. Good Looking player

N/A No rating Comments: I gave also just bought this from Amazon (for £80) and seem to be having problems with both JPEG and VCD. VCD is jumpy - though there is a distinct difference between Nero (bad) and VCDEasy (good) and jpegs turned out in odd colours (again burnt with NerO0 Could do with some advice please!!!!

CVD? $125 N/A 9 of 10 JPG/JPEG Comments: This is my first DVD player and I'm very impressed. It has played all DVDs I've authored on DVD+RW and all VCDs I've thrown at it. It came multi-region (or so it says) out of the box. Not tried it yet though. I bought from Amazon.co.uk for £79.99 so it's great value too. I was a bit disappointed with the JPG viewer - burning onto a VCD is a better picture.

N/A 10 of 10 JPG/JPEG Comments: I bought the sd330e multiregion from 24-7 electrical.com for £91.99, plus £7.99 p+p. This was much cheaper than anyone else.This player is exellent. It plays photo CD's[JPG's],DVD-R's, DVD-RW's and copied VCD's [CDR's]. We haven’t yet tried DVD+R's.

This player is Awesome, im 99% sure that to make this a multi-region it will require a bios update via a cdr ala SD220E, as the price for the MR version is only £15 more. Incidently, I bought the Region2 version from empiredirect in the uk, the player seems to be multi-region allready straight out of the box. Picture 10/10 Sound 9/10 Features 8/10 Connectivity 10/10
