N/A No rating Comments: This is an excellent HD DVD player, especially for the price. The player also up-converts SD DVD's Currently using the 1.3/1.1 firmware. Plays CD-R, CD-RW, DVD+/-R and DVD+/-RW very well. I tested these with Memorex and TDK brands For Dual layers it's shakey based on batch and brand. Memorex 2.4x DVD+R DL had little to no problems, though it will not read an 8x batch I bought. Burned the 8x DVD+R DL at 2.4x and had the same problems. I will not confirm that dual layers work or not for this reason. I only used Memorex for the dual layer. Other brands may yield different results. Cheaper than most up-converting DVD players out there and you get the HD DVD player in one bundle. The player though will not respond to any low to mid-level universal remotes yet. I would recommend this player to anyone.
