CVD? $250 N/A 6 of 10 Comments: Sofar i have tryed with several DVD-R media, but they were not played propperly. There was pixels, freezing of the picture and chapter jumps, so i guess this is a feature that is not supported,although userguide says nothing about this, only DVD-RW is said not to be supported (not tested it for this). But if your desire is to have a player that can be made regionfree easely, play VCD, SVCD and MP3, its an OK player for this

They have written to me that this model can't read any dvd R . Or I can do it , so you can do it too . excuse my english I'm FRENCH

Burning with Nero produces a coaster ;-) DVD region hack works

N/A No rating MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG Comments: It plays cVCD (Compressed VCD), but its needs burning the mpeg file like SVCD no standard. It plays also KVCD at 704x576 (http://www.kvcd.net), but it need remultiplex the mpeg file like SVCD, and record it like SVCD not standard.

MP3 VBR WMA CVD? $300 N/A 7 of 10 JPG/JPEG MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG Comments: I was surprised to see that my mp3-cds were well supported, despite their structure (no caracter-length restriction and two levels of folders). The only thing about this player is its sensitivity. Some cds and dvds lag, and the cd-rw format is not well supported. Great player though

CVD? $700 N/A 6 of 10 Comments: It seems that this is a good player, but it is not. It is actually not worth the money I paid for it, although it is much better than the DTH-4000 model I got at first. This players biggest problem is that it lags on the sound-track on all other disks except bought DVDs. The only thing I can do about it is to stop the picture and then resume. I know that is not much, but when you have to do in 20 times during one episode of Enterprise the joy of watching has faded away. Another thing is that you will not get any support from Thomson through their home page and the distributor here in Iceland does not understand what the concept "paying customer" means. This is a sad waist of $750. Yes, that is the price in Iceland.

So far it has played everything i have thrown at it and it even plays mp3s. The sound and picture quality is a pleasure to the eyes and ears. There are only two real problems with this player >The remote control is really big and chunky but it is programable so it will work your TV and video at the flick of a switch >You can only have mp3s with a name of eight letters which is imposable if you want to include the song name and artist> Overall though its one of the best DVD players ive seen
