The first one i had stopped working when i played a cd rw with some short adult films which i had downloaded from the internet. The second one has just done the same thing today.

No ID tag on LCD display though, only for 5 secs when the song starts. Does anyone know how to disable the macrovision?

Strange thing: When paly mp3 you can jump to next mellody using next button. You must select next mellody using nav key. Using strange procedures (as you see in other posts) can play subtitles, but with problems: -Can't change subtitle size, position and color (is yellow) -Subtitles size is too small. -Loose subtitle when use ff pr rew. Don't recognize DVD-RW (Memorex, TDK, Samsung) Tevion (siemense.de) released new firmware but is beta. You now what new features released with this new firmware?

CVD? $60 N/A 7 of 10 JPG/JPEG DivX Comments: Picture quality (interlaced output) quality is good, plays well with properly encoded DivX movies. The progressive scan video output quality is surprisingly poor, thanks mostly to a poor output filter design (low pass filter is too aggressive, also has severe resonance). The picture is rather blurred and up to 4 ghosts can be seen after vertical edges. I tweaked the output filter of my player, my progressive video picture is now perfect! =c)

You can grab new firmware for DVD-4000 player, but still it's beta version, from www.siemssen.de. But can you tell mi what Progressive Scan is? One word againts - while playing mp3 files theres no track name on the screen - I mean there's nothing beside Tevion logo ;). PS. Maddog -> we're talking in english cause it's english website. I'm from Poland and I got this player from Germany but I don't speak german.

MP3 WMA VBR CVD? $80 N/A 8 of 10 DVD-JPG DVD-WMA DVD-MP3 DivX MPEGISO DVD-MPEGISO DVD-RAM Comments: DVD-Player hatte ausgesprochene Probleme bei der Annahme der Medien ( Daten-CD/ ISO ), bei mir hat er Verbatim-R und alle andere Hersteller -RW genommen, zeigte sich aber bei der Annahme anderer DVD-Rohlinge sehr wählerisch. Nach folgender Änderung des Brennvorganges keine Probleme mehr... Filmdateien..Mpeg2, DivX oder Xvid spielt keine Rolle in einem Ordner abspeichern, in der Regel gehen bis zu 6 Filme auf eine DVD. Anschließend diesen Ordner in Nero als ISO-Datei brennen. Im ROOt-Verzeichnis sieht man nun den Ordner ( z.Bsp.: Urlaubsfilme ) diesen öffnen (links/ rechts-Tasten) und den gewünschten Film abspielen, kein langes laden oder einlesen, auch der Wechsel zum nächsten Film geht sehr schnell vor sich. Habe dies mit folgenden Medien durchprobiert: Verbatim -R, -RW, +RW, Platinum +R, -RW, Tevion +R, SK -RW, Sky -R und mit allen Medien dieser Hersteller gab es keine Probleme! Unbedingt Testen, so wird der Tevion 4000 zum Allesfresser

CVD? $70 N/A 8 of 10 Comments: didn't try it much jet. But so far I'm pretty happy. Just one thing I couldn't find out so far: Couldn't find any spec for the music power (speaker output). One of my main motivation to buy this guy was to lissen MP3's. Currently I've connected the player to my HiFi system. However I'm thinking about to buy a new HiFi anyway. So I'm curious, if I just need new speakers or if I have to buy also an amplifier??? Any suggestions what to choose? I'm not hard to please. So doesn't need to be the most expensive one ;-) SZ

Maybe Siemssen will add new features (polish chars, bigger font and maybe not yellow but white with black border) ? Hope so.

And why Siemssen do not place any information about supporting subtitles for divx/xvid ? It's really good, cheap player which plays almost every media.

N/A No rating Comments: Tevion 4000 supports .srt and .sub divx/xvid subtitles. To make it work insert a cd with srt/sub file on it. In navi menu select the file with "?" sign. Use "Angle" button on remote control and play movie. The good thing is that subtitles don't have to be on the same cd as the movie. If you have subs on another cd do the same thing as above, but after using angle button, insert cd with a movie. If you use the 2nd method subtitles will disappear after using forward/rewind buttons (hope they'll fix it!). Another bad thing about subs is that they're very small, they're yellow and you can't change their position.

It plays DVD,DVD-R,VCD,MP3,JPEG, DivX (but without subtitles - I don't now which subtitle format to choose). Nice price (76 EUR), bought in Germany (Aldi shop), nice look. But I need to display subtitles !

DivX 3/4/5.x works very proper!! Only .ogg probs (can`t read) and some fine-tuning was necessary by encoding TV-Stream to dvd with main-mpeg encoder. But never the less look at the price and ................ it`s ok.!

(perhaps i had just bad luck with this special player)
