To prevent the jittering, pixelating and locking up caused by the zoran chip overheating, a heat sink needs to be installed. Any PC store should have motherboard chipset heat sinks with self adhesive heat transfer pads, they usually come in a pack of 3 one of them has a small quiet fan on them. take the DVD player to a technician and get them to wire up the fan to the internals so when the DVD player is switched on the fan turns on. I have done this mod my self and it works well. If you can get a copper heat sink even better. I don't know why manufacturers don't put heat sinks in. DVD players arent much more than a video card and a DVD-rom in an external case. anywhere there is a CPU there is heat. Sansui is another good one for over heating. it is also a good idea to switch the player of at the rear switch when not in use! Manual says it DVD will read kodak picture discs however it does not read Kodak PCD files. DV-5120HD so far reads the following discs TDK gold 700mb CD-R Kodak gold Mitsubishi CD-RW SDK 700 and 800mb CD-R Mitsumi 700mb verbatim DVD-R DL Princo DVD+R Verbatim DVD-RW Lazer DVD-R will read MP3's on DVD-R DL Over all it is a good DVD player, however, unless you live in an air conditioned environment below 27 degress C don't buy it!

CVD? $125 7 days 3 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-JPG DVD-MP3 MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG DivX Comments: After 1 week of use has to be returned to place of purchase for a refund. dvd's get stuck after a few minutes of use. player is over heating and the discs come out hot.

CVD? $125 7 days 5 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-JPG DVD-MP3 MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG DivX Comments: Initially good, however after using for a week found typical slimline dvd player problems, player does get hot discs get hot and fail to read properly after 25 minutes. Sometimes can get temperamental and lock up to a point where you cant eject the disc unless you power off at the rear switch the power on and open tray before disc loads. Is capable of being multi region by entering code on remote. one thing that was cute was pressing pause on the remote turned the power on for my sony beta vcr (SL-HF100AS)
