| This machine is great, plays most things you throw at it.I tested XVCD and XSVCD and it works ok on XVCDs but I had a bit of trouble with the XSVCDs I made , maybe still a bit of tweaking to be done. Doesn't seem to play wma, but thats fine, it still beats a lot of other stuff out there. Quality on vcds was good. I can capture from, my MSI TV@nywhere card with the VCD or SVCD template and burn to a CDRW and it plays back on the DV-2150 , with no problems. I have a friend that has an Aiwa model, and it couldn't even playback a picture vcd w/ audio. I have used HP, AOpen and Dysan CDRWs, also some very cheap CDRs. They all work. So I am quite happy here as you can see especialy after not having to pay an arm and a leg for this machine. |

| I agree with most other people. This is a great player for the price. However I have trouble with audio sync when I rip my DVD's to svcd. They work on other DVD players. Also the picture is jumpy when playing a region other than australia. |

For smooth NTSC playback, select 'PAL 60' mode for the 'TV System' setting.
To switch between folders for MP3 discs, move the cursor to the CD title and press the enter key - you will be able to cycle through the folders. |

| Tested DVD+R and DVD+RW burned with an AOpen RW2412. First 3 or so minutes of play back was fine. Thereafter a constantly choppy picture resulting from dropped frames. Audio quality remained fine. Is this a Pal\\NTSC compatibility problem? The DVD discs were burned in pal. Any suggestions? |

Very decent dvd player indeed.
For the price you cant really ask for more.
It plays all vcd and svcd on all media i have tried.
Im not to happy about the way black is displayed on the tv, its sort of wavers up and down in widescreen dvds etc. Also its a bit slow on response once you turn it on.
If you want a very decent player and your on a budget, I would certainly pick one of these up. |

Apart from noise and RF interference generated when turned on, so far all NTSC discs I have tried have had choppy framerate. (Mine is a PAL system) Not sure if this is a result of a lack of NTSC playback compatibility with the TV or what, but even T2: Ultimate Edition (meant to have one of the best video of all dvds) is choppy. Menus in NTSC also seem to shrink when video footage is not playing on them.
SVCDs also have slight jumps every 30 or so seconds. SVCDs created perfectly using VCDeasy and Nero, working with overburned discs.
Otherwise great player that seems to play almost everything. Great for a second player and even better for its price.
A grey and black version is available. |

| its a great player which i havent had too many problems with. I did find that mp3's a little bit of a pain, it doesnt accept foldering of mp3's or long file names. Mp3's above 196 bitrate seem to scramble and not play properly. it cuts off most mp3 file names only allowing a few letters to appear. |

For the price, a great player.
Played scratched discs without any pause, was quick to load and responded quickly to input from the remote (as compared to JNL 7002 I purchased and took back the same weekend)
Played MP3's on cdr's without any problems
One negative is that in standby mode it seems to generate a bit of RF interference which on some channels required the player to be off to watch TV/video etc.
The remote is not layed out that well, but if you can get over this, it is a great player for the price.

I run a VHS to DVD transfer business (in Australia) and I wanted a cheap dvd player to test our DVD-R's on after production. I found the DV-2150 at K-Mart for $250 (AUD). To my surprise this unit plays DVD-R's without a flaw. It even plays DVD-R's recorded in long play (but not extended play, which you wouldn't use anyway). Picture quality is spot on too. For what is basically a bottom of the range unit, the 2150 does a great job. If you don't have a big budget & you want a dvd player, this is the one to get. Highly recommended.

| Great player for the price I paid, which was only $279 here in Australia at Target. So far has played everything except for X(S)VCD's with resolutions higher than (S)VCD standards and SVCD's burnt with nero couldn't be FF or RW. To overcome this problem you have to author your SVCD's with VCDImager or some other authoring program. I was very pleased when I found out this player also handles multiple audio tracks on SVCD's, a feature which I've hardly ever seen on DVD players down here in Oz. All in all a great player for the price tag. |

| This is a great DVD player! It plays all my VCD's that i've ripped from DVD perfectly. Very cheap also. Have only tested Mp3 at 128kbps however but plays perfectly aswell. Picture is very good for such a low priced player. VERY GOOD BUY. So far have only tested TDK CDR and Ricoh CDRW but have no problems with that. |

Some discussion exists in the newsgroups wheter it is now macrovision disabled but so far i have not been able to prove it on mine purchased for christmas.

| One of the cheapest players on AUS market as at Nov 2001. Having great difficulty finding a region hack and found comments suggesting multiregion is not possible on TEAC brand!!! That's nasty. Anyone with info to the contrary please comment. Picture is very good and manufacturer warranty is 3yrs which seems to be rare these days. Excellent entry level/second player. |
