CVD? $20 1 days 9 of 10 Comments: Plays everything you throw at it. The only downfall is that it does not play VCD. This is my second dvd player from the same brand, the other we use when we travel.

CVD? $? 2 days 9 of 10 Comments: got it from Fry's for $19.99, mainly to seek a replacement for my 2 year old cyberhome CH 300, and this is the right one so far. noticed no one has reported any double layer info for this unit here, so i'll be the first one to say that the DL read performance is superb so far, I've tested two brands of DL media, one memorex 2.4x DVD+R DL, one Verbetim 2.4x DVD+R DL, straight 1:1 copy from commercial DVDs, burned with nero with automatic booktype changed to DVD-ROM. It also reads all mixed format i authored using TMPG dvd author, mpeg1 with mp2 read OK. And I'll give a big plus to the picture quality for this unit via the standard A/V connection with the same TV -- an Apex 20", before this one, I've tried one AMW, one samsung with upconversion compatibility, one cyberhome, this one definitely has a noticable better picture quality over the others, especially the dvd subtitle,no more shaking with this unit, particularly love the bitrate/layer detection function. one biggest con for this unit is extremely slow change from movie to menus/menus to movie, especially for those fancy commercial DVDs with transition effects between menus/movies, the layer break seems to be OK to me, this is the reason why i rate 9 out of 10 for it, if the switching speed performs like "normal", i would've give it a 10!

CVD? $? 2 days No rating Comments: What software are you using to make -R's readable....I have downloaded a few movies in Xvid and transcoded them, but I can't get the final result to play. I'm using Nero 6 to transcode and make the drive image, and DVD shrink 3.2 to burn. I'm using Memorex 4x media. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

MP3 WMA CVD $30 7 days 8 of 10 miniDVD/cDVD DVD-WMA DVD-MP3 MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG Comments: Plays what its says it plays, doesn't play what its says it doesn't. Feels very light and very few parts. I have bought 4 and all 4 work. Very good picture quality for the price; other inexpensive players I have owned didn't look this good. $27.92 @ wal-mart. Great player for transporting & RV. You don't really have to worry about it, its only $30... My rating is taking into account the price. One cannot expect it to perform as well as a $100-200 name-brand player.

MP3 WMA CVD? $30 7 days 8 of 10 DVD-MP3 DivX Comments: Plays all my DVD+/-R(W), will not play (S)VCD and the manual tells you the same. That is the only downside. It does feel like a cheap paper weight. There is no LCD anywhene on the unit. Almost all functions are through the remote.

CVD? $? 1 days 8 of 10 Comments: $27.87 at walmart, played every dvd i put in it, i didnt haveanything elwse to test. played muliple brands of all 4 major formats +/- r/rw including some of the lowest quality teons that most computers cough back out at you and several 8x + and - disks. easy to hook up, the only real hitch is the weight, it feels like a 12 ounce piece of crap, but for under $30 you cant beat it.
