CVD? $70 over 1 year 2 of 10 Comments: This player usually takes a very long time to load, and many DVDs that will play on my $25 Initial player will not play on this machine. DVDs will pixelate (picture breaking down into many square, colored pixels{picture elements}) on this device that will play uninterrupted by pixelation on my other two machines.

MP3 CBR WMA CVD? $? 2 days 5 of 10 DVD-WMA DivX XviD Comments: A sticker on the DVD PCB board had SLV-D261PU on it, so the DVD player portion of the SLV-D360P may be the same as a SLV-D261. I don't have this other player to verify this.

CVD? $90 2 days 5 of 10 JPG/JPEG DivX XviD Comments: This is a VCR/DVD combo player. I have it connected to an older TV with only RF input. Most DVD players won't connect to RF without a converter, so combo units are nice for old TVs. SLV-D360P is nearly the same as the SLV-D560P, except D560P supports VCR+. D360P can record from cable and play DVD at the same time, but you cannot copy a DVD to tape. DVD PCB silkscreen: Zeus-PJ SLV-D360P / Sony Chip: Panasonic 6N2DS0005VP sticker on board: SLV-D261PU Unit connections: RF-in, RF-out for both VCR and DVD signal Line-in on front and back. Line-out on back for DVD and VCR signal S-Video out (DVD only) Line-out audio (DVD only) Component video out (Pt,Pb,Y) (DVD only) Digital audio coax out (DVD only) Optical audio out (DVD only) This unit replaces a Sony SLV-D500P which stopped reading DVDs after 2.5 years after taking increasing long periods to recognize disks. The DVD chipset and carriage on D500P is different than on the newer D360P. Both units have the same remote, which isn't very nice due to organization and small non-descript buttons. Plays burnt DVDs without problems, but I only use good media such as TDK and Verbatim. The documentation does not indicate that this unit supports VCD/SVCD, although others here report that it plays them. I have not tried it on the D360P, but the D500P would not play them. No upconversion, HDMI, etc. Good picture, but this is an old 26" TV, so good is relative. Had the D360P not been on sale, I think I would have bought a Samsung v5500.

CVD? $? 1 days 1 of 10 Comments: I bought and expected it to play DVD+DL, well it does not. The disk is Verbatim DVD+DL 4X. The burnt disc played well in two PC DVD drives (NEC and Emprex) and my Apex-1100.
