CVD? $? 1 days 9 of 10 DVD-RAM Comments: Quite complex at first, but once you learn the basics it's easy to use. It knocks the socks of the Panasonic DMR-E50 (my previous recorder which failed after 2 years) in terms of style and system configuration. It's just a pity I can't use any of my DVD-RAM discs on this unit, but I've only lost a film that's on Sky a lot anyway. Suggestion - If you're using the LP/SLP modes etc, go into tools, recording setup and increase the REC NR (Recording Noise Reduction) to reduce picture noise and gives the recorder an easier time of encoding at low bitrates.

CVD? $800 6 days 10 of 10 DVD-RAM Comments: I have been using this recorder for about six weeks, and I must say I am very pleased with the quality of the recordings. I am not a great fuss pot when it comes to recording picture quality so the six hour recording quality of this recorder is excellent it gives a picture which is better than VHS, if you want your programms recorded in broadcast quality; or near to it; then you will need to record in the two hour mode. The freeview tuner (for UK only) is great, as with it the recorder is future proof, it would be a better piece of kit if it also had a large hard drive, and I will exchange if I come across a good quality freeview model that does have the hard drive included. The price was a little high and I could have got it £80.00 cheaper, but that would have been over the internet and after having two PVR's by Digifusion which both dropped recordings never to be seen again and had to be returned I didn't fancy having to return a faulty unit, so I bought localy, all in all this is a great recorder.

CVD? $650 30 days 8 of 10 DVD-MP3 MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG DVD-RAM Comments: Excellent Recorder but never use above SP (2 hour mode) as the quality drops a fair bit. Great built in Freeview box. Shame it doesn't offer DVD-Ram too but the VR mode with DVD-RW works quite well. Wont work with 4x DVD-RW Has all the inputs and outputs you could need (apart from Firewire)
