CVD? $? 180 days 8 of 10 Comments: Very good system, but somewhat disappointed. Pros: Sturdy, well built and well designed. User interface is very nice, DLNA support and can stream direct from my PC via ethernet without any issues (using TVersity on WinXP). Also has the added benefit of the gaming system. Saw this as the 'all-in-one' media solution based on reviews and gave it a try. Cons: Was told this model was multi-regional, seems for games only (if at all). Additionally no NTSF support, still no MKV support, lost backwards compatibility with PS2 games, and Cinavia protected. Seems with each update Sony takes something away. I wanted an all-in-one solution, keep my entertainment area very clean and open looking... but for multi-region/mkv people tell me to buy a cheap DVD player and for mkv/ntsf a media centre like WD LIVE PLUS... starting to defeat the purpose of having a $300 all-in-one solution if I need to buy another $250 worth of stuff to go with it. It's a great system for most users, and great if you play lots of games as well, which I don't. Just annoyed that a few details about this purchase were incorrect, and that Sony with all of their updates, managed to slip Cinavia onto the unit, yet still can't update it for NTSF/MKV support.

Make sure you get the latest firmware by updating your PS3 as V1.8 will add upscaling of not only your DVD's but also your PS1/PS2 games to 720/1080i. It played every kind of DVD I threw at it from DL to DVD9 Have not been able to test if it can play regionfree PAL discs Overall very satisfied
