No cd-r or mp3 support.

CVD? $700 N/A 9 of 10 Comments: Yep! I paid about $700 for this trusty DVD-Player way back in 1998. That was not including the 150$ for the country code Mod-Chip. Great picture, great sound. When others had trouble reading Hi-Bit DVD's my 715 never had any problems. I watch the Superbit DVD from the USA without any problems. Here are my results with a new - Benq 800a. Software: AnyDVD, DaVideo3 Medium: Verbatim DVD+R 8x Burned 1:1 shrinking. Result: Coaster - would not play in the 715. Second Run: Software: AnyDVD, Clone DVD 1.3.11.2 Medium: Verbatim DVD+R 8x Burned: 1:1 schrink Result: just fine!! Exactly what I wanted! Good luck to the rest.......

N/A 8 of 10 JPG/JPEG Comments: Had some Problems with Ritek G03 media (stuttering Video...) and other cheap media (White Label, Bulkcrap etc.). SVCD works with latest firmware only! No Chapter skip supported with SVCD, just plays them from beginning to end.

No DVD worked when burned with Nero 6.0.0.11, but DVD+R worked with DVD Decrypter and CloneDVD 1.2.8.4 (mark get menue) I like this very good DVD Player - It is old but it is great sound and great picture!

N/A 8 of 10 Comments: A few results from my initial experiments with DVD+R/W media in the Sony DVP-S715 player. I use Nero 5.5.10.20 and Plextor PX-504A (firmware 1.00) for burning the DVD's. DVD+R (Verbatim 2.4x DataLifePlus) works superb! DVD+RW (also Verbatim 2.4x DataLifePlus) could NOT play! It must be said though, that the +R disc has "DATA/VIDEO" printed on it, whereas the +RW disc (bundled with the Plextor drive) says only "DATA" sort of suggesting that it is not for DVD-video. Guess the Sony player is not to be blamed here...

N/A 8 of 10 DVD-MP3 MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG DivX MPEGISO Comments: DVD Drive: Ricoh MP5125A It plays any DVD+R or DVD+RW (Media:Ricoh) recorded with Sofware Nero 5.5.9.17 : dvd copy on the fly with pioneer DVD-303 SCSI reader and Ricoh MP5125A itself. I use DVD Decrypter 3.1.4.0 to extract data, VobEdit 0.6 to build the new DVD, IfoEdit 0.94 to manage audio and subtitles, and Nero to record. All movies, split or not are working in English audio by default but you can manage other audio or subtitle elements with the remote control as usual. tested with DVD 9 zone 1 and 2. I am only searching DVDSplit software to simplify cut for long movies

N/A 7 of 10 Comments: DVD Drive: Ricoh MP5125A It does not play any DVD+RW (Media:Verbatim, Fuji, Philips, Ricoh) Sofware Nero 5.5.8.2, NeoDVDstandard. but it plays DVD+R (Verbatim) burned with NeoDVDstandard. a ricoh DVD+R burned with Nero didnt work (player error code 13 clean dvd) to those who managed reading a DVD+RW please email me, or write down here, the exact infos how you did (software including ISO options etc. and the media you used)

CVD? $700 N/A 6 of 10 miniDVD/cDVD Comments: This player is excellent, but getting a little old now. I've had mine for a couple of years, it's a UK version that I've had modified for Region control. Like my review says, this player will not recognise CD/RW, DVD-RW discs, don't know why. I have not tested DVD+RW but I would not hold my breath for compatibility.

Apple - MOST work OK Memorex - All OK TDK - Some work I noted that discs burned in Prassi PrimiDVD 2.0 worked MUCH better generally than those burned in Nero 5.5.7.2. (Authored using SpruceUP and burned with Pioneer A03)
