MP3 WMA CVD? $100 N/A 8 of 10 DVD-WMA DVD-MP3 MP3 long filename Comments: My first player but still the best ( picture + Sound ) seems this player never gets old ? Reads Memorex DVD-R ( burned with CloneDVD ) Traxdate DVD-R VCD 2.0 Errors ( C13:00 on display wont start ) with the first RC2 -Dreamworks-Movies ( like Roadtrip, Antz etc. ) and with most Korean Fox DVDs ( RC3 ) But you can play those movies when you stop the player and use "search" and "4" or "3" ( for Chapter ) - The movie starts somewhere, but you can now use "Menü" & start it.

My experiance with the player is that, Burning at high speeds gives the player troubles Burning at low speeds never gives troubles. I've bruned dvd+ en dvd- vcd cd with no trouble at all only low speed burning

Sometimes the Player won't play DVD-R , but just open & Close the tray a couple of times . If you get it right , it will play the DVD-R ! Great DVD Player , the only problem is that it can't read DVD-+RW's & SVCD !

N/A 8 of 10 MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG Comments: Only tested with Packard Bell DVD+-R/RW. All worked fine except DVD-RW. I had compatibility mode on within Nero (5.5.10.0 I think). CD-R works, but player is very fussy about low quality burns - I discovered this when my CD burner was starting to die. It will skip on dodgy discs whereas other players will be more forgiving. Rating : Great player, but lacking in DTS which is becoming a problem. Would certainly consider another Sony.

N/A 8 of 10 JPG/JPEG Comments: I bought this player the day it came out, must be 6-7 years ago now. Its been used and abused and still works perfectly. Has always worked with VCD and Just tried DVD+R and it works fine. DVD+RW did not work. Burned DVD+R with Ricoh 5125A

N/A 7 of 10 Comments: Solid machine, but now I have a kid and want to create my own movies I find it lacking in capability to play non-shop bought DVDs. I have burned on different brands, both +R, +RW, -R and -RW and so far have had one successful attempt. I also bought mine in France in 1999, and Sony tell me that it can't be "upgraded".

Distributors now say it is not compatible with CD-R...

CVD? $150 N/A 7 of 10 Comments: My player is now 5 years old and it's had constant heavy use, believe me its played thousands of times, i'm not exaggerating. Never cleaned the laser and it still plays bulkpaq dvd-r written on a A03 perfectly. (was dvd-r even invented when these first came out?)

N/A No rating Comments: Contrary to all other comments here, my player plays all CD-Rs that I've tried - these are TDK(both old and newer reflex type), Optidisc, BASF/EMTEC. Both 74/80 min work well.

I been reading theres ways around it where you can trick it into thinking its a regular vcd. This dvd player gives great sound and amazing picture! Plays my vcd's wonderfuly! deffintaly worth the money. Was gona go for a apex but sony is a much better name brand and im sure this dvd player would last me alot longer then a apex.
