| Bought primarily for SACD, and am very pleased with SACD sound quality. CD sound is very good for Japanese consumer player, but can be beat by any good high end player. Video quality is very good, smooth playback, and only occasional croma bug. |

| Princo, Leaddata, Optodisk, Ricoh(media codes) DVD-R media all work fine on this player. The Princo DVD-RW discs skips near the end of the disc while watching a movie. The Memorex DVD-RW with TDK media code works fine. Good player for the price. Great image quality. Had this player for a couple of months, haven't had any problems so far playing everything I threw at it. |

Played everything I threw at it DVD-R, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3 320kbps, etc., etc. It did make a little too much search noise when I first started it up and played a DVD-R, but abated after a while. My guess is that the unit was cold from being in my car for most of the early evening (apprx. 40 degrees).
DVD-R's are just generic, spindle distributed, 2x media that cost about 80 cents per and were burned using a Pioneer DVDR-A04 drive at 1x speed, after being ripped by DVD Decrypter, audio & video separated by DVD2AVI, re-encoding by TMPE, re-muxed by Maestro and burned by Gear Pro. They looked fantastic, no artifacting or audio sync issues were perceived. |

Excellent player, it plays my DVD-Rs without any problems. I use DVD-R Verbatim DataLife Plus (about 2.4 U$ each) and Optodisc DVD-R (0.80 U$ each) recorded with Instant Copy on a Pioneer A05 burner.
Both worked perfect all times.
The picture quality of this player is excellent, it is a great deal for a home theater DVD player with the 5 channels + subwoofer.

| Works Great. Played SVCD without a problem. Supports all Media. Its Identical to the DVP-NS715, but with SACD Support. SACD sounds great. Definitely worth the few extra bucks over the 715. Picture quality is great. |

| Plays VCD & SVCD very well. DVD-r is another story. it plays the DVD-5's just fine. It won't play a movie that I had to re-encode, it cant fast foward or skip chapters. I know these movies work becasue they have played on other players. I will be returning this player. |

| I'm very happy with this player. It plays SACD, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R and DVD+RW formats. The DVDs I've recorded were made on a Sony DRU500a using all 4 types of Memorex DVD media. Highly recommended if you're looking for a low cost highly versatile player. |

This is an excellent unit. The SACD is exceptional for the price. Picture is good in progressive but appears to have the chroma bug as many progressive players do. So far all VCDs and SVCDs I have tried have played fine. MP3s worked fine as well but not sure if they were CBR or VBR on the disk I played.
The most impressive part of this unit is the SACD which sounds great in both Multi and 2Channel SACD. |
