WMA CVD? $70 1 days 7 of 10 Comments: Not really posting for any reason other than to confirm it will NOT play WMA's. The manual explicitly warns against it and I have also verified with an actual WMA DVD. It will read the directory structure, but will not recognize the WMA files...

CVD? $100 N/A 8 of 10 DivX Comments: Some SVCD's can be masked as VCD's. Although I haven't watched the entire movie, it did start playing. I don't know why some svcd's won't work with the header-trick. Seems like trial and error up until now.

CVD? $125 N/A 9 of 10 Comments: Good Cheap player (<$129). Plays VCD well and has good loading times. I use Ulead pictershow, movie factory and video studeo, with no problems. Would not play SVCD. Has Coax, component and composite outputs.

N/A 8 of 10 Comments: OKay. SVCD does work on this player. You need to do the vcd header trick though. PLays back svcd videos perfect., nice and smooth no problems with audio or video.Used tmpegenc multiplex, to adjust the svcd header to mpeg-1 vcd (non-standard). Then burned with Nero 5.5.10.15a. Used Sony 1x32x cd-r's (green). have fun with this player it's great and especially now that it can play SVCDs HEHE. :D

CVD? $150 N/A 9 of 10 DVD-MP3 Comments: Hi all! Well, im still a newbie at this movie making game, but im coming along. I went out and bought this dvd player so i could play my downloaded movieson my tv. After learning how to make movies and reading that this player can't play svcd (i can either make vcd or svcd) i made a vcd of the fellowship of the ring. I used Imation cd-r 80 min, tmpgenc was my encoder and i used nero video mode to burn it. I currently havent tested it with cd-rw or any other types of cd-r but i will soon. Most of the reviews i have read here though say it works with most all cd-r media. I was all around happy with the results of all my learning and hard work (I started from diddly squat to working movies) this dvd player enhances the quality of the movie you make. I made my Fellwoship of the Ring vcd in only 352x... (sorry i don't remember the second number). When I looked at the movie on my computer it was kinda blocky and not very pretty lookin. When I put it in my dvd player it was as sharp and pretty as can be!

I am assuming that it plays DVD+Rs, DVD-RWs because they play the other two formats

N/A No rating Comments: Earlier on I mentioned my player being able to play SVCD. It does but I should should also point out it is an Australian PAL model.

N/A 9 of 10 Comments: Good player. Was a little disappointed with it not being able to read SVCD but otherwise handles DVD-R and DVD-RW well. Using EMTEC DVD's.

N/A No rating JPG/JPEG Comments: Region code hack not needed as is multi region out of the box. Plays VCD (v2.0) & SVCD well. VCD & SVCD created on Imation (CMC) CD-R's at 20x using Nero 5.5.xx. Played store bought VCD media better than an old 3-4 yr old stand alone VCD version 3.0 player. Hardly any noticeable pixellation or blocking at all.

CVD? $100 N/A 9 of 10 JPG/JPEG MPEGISO Comments: Runs Imation CD-R's just fine. Doesn't miss a beat. Paid 133.00 with shipping from Dealznet.com on 11/22/02. Factory sealed. Got it to run VCD using Roxio 5+ Platnium. My crappy burner (HP CR - RW 8200 External) wouldn't burn (a VCD) with any other software except Roxio. I tried everything, but was happy when i got Roxio to work. Used TMPGEnc to author, and Roxio to burn using the examples here step by step. No problem. I would think this player would play almost anything from Nero or anywhere else. My problem was my sh*tty burner. The 16:9 selectable output rocks with the 27" Wega enhanced 16:9 feature. It's a dream.

CVD? $150 N/A 8 of 10 Comments: Seems to play just about everything I've thrown at it (DVD, DVD-R, CD-R, VCD) except SVCD (damn!). Also seems to be very tolerant as far as playing DVDs. It will play some commercial DVDs that my older Sony won't play. It is a pretty "bare-bones" player though. Not much in terms of user interface and a pretty stripped down remote.

CVD? $250 N/A 9 of 10 MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG Comments: All brands of CD-R that I have tried work fine. Silver-light-blue Silver-light-green Dark Blue Gold Mp3 support is quite good. It has no problems with vbr. Standard VCD is great. The deblocking and smoothing features make VCD look good. Unfortunately the unit is picky. It handles CBR 1150 fine. It has not handled and VBR without jerkiness. I have tried 2000 kb/s max VBR and no go. It does not allow SVCD-VCD spoofing. Well actually you can fool the machine and if plays but the picture is again jerky even at low bitrates. It did not handle a standard SVCD stream spoofed as a VCD well at all. As I said before the picture is great with 1150 VCD
