CVD? $150 1 days 7 of 10 Comments: I bought this dvd changer to replace my old Pioneer DV-333. As I frequently plays VCDs and SVCDs... a changer would be cool for 2cds or 3 cds movies ;) Works really good with DVD, DVD-r and DVD+R... that's why I gave it a 7 But I had problems with ALL the VCDs and SVCDs I tried. They would be quickly recongnized... and played almost immediatly... but there was alway 2 big green bar (one on top and one on the bottom) conevring almost 50% of the screen. First thought it was a defective unit.. got a replacement one the sameday... same problem. I quickly returned it to the store for a refund. BUYERS beware... even if stated in manual.. VCDs and SVCDs will not play correctly

CVD? $100 N/A 8 of 10 JPG/JPEG MP3 long filename DivX Comments: Amazing player overall.. Great to have the changer capability. Notes to consider: Has some trouble with lower quality SVCDs. Seems to go pixelated towards end of disc. (usually watchable.. just minor irritant) Also, some SVCDS gets a green screen over the video, and plays strangely.. Unwatchable, but VERY FEW. 90% compatibility. Tray is a bit noisy when open/close and changing discs.. Unit is a tiny bit large, takes up entire shelf in Entertainment unit below TV. Solid Sony quality, Remote is amazing, works on 25 year old TV just fine. Plays dvds and SVCDS beautifully, thats why i got it, although some disappointment with some kinds of svcd they are usually foreign (not north american releases) and usually lower quality slightly. If norcent or apex made a changer that was fully as good as their single disc units, id say get those instead, but shy of that, this unit kicks butt. Nothing is perfect (Except the Norcent 300, but, only 1 disc there!)

CVD? $125 N/A 4 of 10 MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG Comments: KVCD had some audio synch issues with certain discs. Some movies would come out all warped with audio distortion. They claim it works with most formats, and it does (but not well). For the price it is extremely disapointing. SVCD however did work with my unit bought in Canada through Future Shop. The FS site even claimed SVCD compatabilty, so not sure why us players don't.
