| Was in search for a Philips 642 but apparently it's sold out throughout the island. Was in desperate need of a DVD player that supporter Divx. I stumbled upon this Samsung P247M but I could not find any info/review on it online. Not sure if it's a new or what but I bought it anyway. So far it has played all the different formats as advertised. Have tried 3 different Divx movies on CD and they all played flawlessly. Even played a NTSC coded DVD on my PAL tv and played all regions without any hacking on my part. The menu screen is user friendly. The remote can probably be improved but it's fine as I have seen worse. Looks to be on par with the Philips 642. |

| Good unit for the price. Still don't like the FF/REW and the skip search, especially on the same button with the skip search being the primary function (if you don't time it right when FF it skips to the next scene - FRUSTRATING)!. Bought it to replace my NEC NDV-25 which gave me nothing but trouble after having it replaced under warranty twice! The electrical store were kind enough to swap it to the Samsung for free. |
