CVD? $? over 1 year 7 of 10 Comments: Tested a PAL DVD+R and it said "check tv". hence it didn't convert. of the two other dvd players i tested the dvd on, one played it in black and white and the other played it fine.

CVD? $150 over 1 year 5 of 10 Comments: I'm not sure how anyone has gotten a DVD+RW to work! I have tried 3 major brands, with all booktypes I could do! Nothing has worked. All DVD-R media I have tried has worked. VCD/SVCD on CD-R works fine as well.

CVD? $80 over 1 year 7 of 10 Comments: I only copy & burn stuff to DVD-R or -RW. I never got either RW format to run in this machine. Never got +R to run either, but DVD-R runs great. And that remote is a bear. You need a semester at M.I.T. to figure it out.

Using Dvd Shrink and Nero 5.5.10.54.

IF YOU USE MEMOREX DVD+R DISCS TO BURN YOUR DVD MOVIES, THEY WILL WORK *EVERY* TIME. THE DVD-R DISCS HAD VIDEO SKIPPING PROBLEMS FOR ME BUT DVD+R WORK LIKE A CHARM EVERY TIME. Also found that to see a digest of a VCD disk you had to press MENU then DIGEST then MENU to get it to work. (Discovered by accident one day) Always seemed to work with CD-R, but did not always load CD-R/W on the first try. Had to open/close the loader to make it work. Michael J. N/A 5 of 10 Comments: It's an ok unit. The picture quality is alright, but sometimes there's a quick flash of pixelization, always random, so the player isn't all that wonderful with playback. As for playing burned vcd's and svcd's: DO NOT BURN ANY FASTER THAN 8X!!!!! I've tested various speeds and 8X seems to work everytime without any jitter. A friend burned some SVCD's at 16X and every so often: jitter. I re-burned the cdr's at 8X and no problems. The remote really blows, the buttons are incredibly small and poorly laid out, plus their not very responsive. I also found the buttons on the deck itself not to be very responsive which is incredibly annoying. Definitely not a good buy if you want to use it as your main home deck, look elsewhere.

N/A 8 of 10 Comments: This machine runs everything (DVD, VCD, SVCD, MP3) I stick into it - no problem. One little glitch: there are short (less than half a second) pauses between chapters; this is really only noticable if you specifically watch for it. Only complaint: the remote is intimidating - way too many buttons and you need a magnifying glass to see them

CVD? $125 N/A 5 of 10 JPG/JPEG DivX MPEGISO Comments: This dvd player is great when playing regular dvds I have tried playing svcds and vcds and the only brand I found out that works are the Sony Cd-rs. I tried Imation and Memorex and the svcd and vcd would skip all the time. NOw it plays svcds fine with the sonys.. just have to pay more for your cd-rs. I have played my imation discs and memorex discs on my apex dvd player though and they play fine through there... i have no idea why

I've tried Memorex - NO LUCK Copied my own DVDs and made one from AVI to DVD,etc. Even the generic that came with my DVD-BURNER - NO LUCK I use a Pioneer A105 4X. I believe it's not the burner-or software, it's the media. Thanks, John

CVD? $125 N/A 9 of 10 Comments: After figuring out how to create my own dvd backups properly, this DVD player proves to be superb. I have played VCD's and CDR's, DVD+RW (not sure of compatibility bitrate settings i., e. mode 1 or mode 2) and DVD+R, so I am not sure why others have had any difficulty. I have even reformatted the bitrate in DVD's to get the full length movies to fit onto a 4.7 GB DVD+RW and it worked fine. A GREAT buy!

CVD? $125 N/A No rating Comments: I haven't had any problems playing standard DVD's, CD's or MP3's. The only prolbem with MP3's is you can't read the whole file name so if you have the artist's name first on the file you sometimes can't tell which song is playing. There is also no random feature when playing MP3's. I have tried to play Memorex DVD+R and DVD+RW tapes that I have burned using DVDXCOPY but they are not recognized by this player. The copies play fine on my computer but no luck on the Samsung.

CVD? $150 N/A 9 of 10 JPG/JPEG Comments: I have got to say very pleased w/ product....vcds, svcds, mp3s, everything works w/o flaws i bought it at Best Buy a while back and dont regret the purchase too bad u wont find this on the market anymore...if u arent able to figure out vcds, or svcds, u must be doin something wrong ;) i suggest using a program i use for divx movies i d/l called magix movie to cd to dvd (keeps things simple, but wont rip ur dvds, but imports movie files .mpg,.avi, that such) wut else can i ask for? it plays everything i throw at it....unlike a lot of my friends' dvd players

It has played every vcd/svcd I have thrown in and even plays photo cd's created with nero.

It's worth the money if you ask me.
