CVD? $? over 1 year 7 of 10 JPG/JPEG DivX XviD Comments: All the fuss about what cd-r's must be used: it says on the manual that it plays 74-minute VCD's. I guess as long as you use 74-minute CD-R's, they will be played regardless their brand. As a matter of fact 74min cd-r's seem to have gone out of production, which would make this good player obsolete.

Have successfully tested Datawrite Classic 8x DVD-R Grey (fuji Dye) using the following: PC: Dell GX240, 2 GHz, 512 ram, Windows 2000. DVD writer: Sony DVD_+ RW DRU500A PC: Compaq EXD PIII, 866 GHz, 512 Ram, Windows XP DVD writer: NEC ND-3500 Double Layer Dual 16x DVD R/RW Using DVD X-copy Xpress Version 3.2.1.0 Have copied 10 DVDs so far without any coasters and the Samsung M105 played them all.

CVD? $? over 1 year 8 of 10 DivX Comments: it's a great DVD player, very simple to use, but it's a bitch to get CD's for VCD. this player doesn't work with datasafe media x4 DVD+R it loads fine but then just jumps around. this may be a fault of my own, if so, could you email me telling me what i'm doing wrong?

N/A No rating Comments: In addition to what has already been said, I have experimented with probably fifty different types of CDR and the end result has been that Ritek seem to be the best and most reliable. It does not have to be the Ritek brand, many of the no name spindles are produced by them and the only common factor appears to be the dye used. (According to CDRIdentifier the successful ones are Ritek, Long Strategy Dyue, eg Cyanine, Azo etc.) ATIP is 97m 15s 12f

N/A 5 of 10 Comments: Just wanted to say i find it the same way as some others here i was wondering what i was doing wrong while burning now since i know i got it to work before . I have tried 15 types of cd-r and then i noticed that all the old ones i have burned are Vivastar 80min white label so i went out and bought myself another 50 pack of them and they work fine. Odd really i was about to agree with that the Player does not read any cd-r but it does but for me only Vivastar :)

N/A 7 of 10 Comments: For DVD Burning: DVD Burner is NEC-1000A (OEM from Mirror Products) Software used to rip DVDs is DVDShrink 2.3 Software used to burn DVDs was Nero 5.5.4.8 (included with DVD Burner) Media used was : 1. Philips DVD+RW 2.4x 2. Bulkpaq purple DVD+R 2.4x (Gen 4) Was unable to play either of the above DVDs on the M105. Also failed on Philips DVD625. However, after upgrading to Nero 5.5.10.42, playback is now possible : 1. Philips DVDs play perfectly. 2. Bulkpaq do not play the opening title, but jumps randomnly into one of the first chapters. At this point it is then possible to then access the main menu and disc works perfectly from this point on. However, to date I have only burned one DVD; this may not happen for others. I also got exactly the same results from Nero 6.0.0.15 On another note, I can play VCDs using Vivastar white CDs.

Unfortunately, Princo media is no longer available to the UK market owing to an ongoing Royalty dispute between Princo and Phillips (the patent holders for CDR media). We are aware that it is possible to import these discs from retailers outside of the UK but we are unable to do so on this occasion, we would be breaking the law by trying to bring in these unlicensed discs. Please be aware that should you try to import these discs yourself then you run the risk of having the discs impounded. ----------

N/A 8 of 10 Comments: Yo folks, The brand for CD-R is PRINCO CD-R 80min. You can order it at: www.ziezotec.nl/princo_cdr. I have tested for VCD / SVCD and MP3. No problems occured, accept the SVCD-quality is working fine for 50%. After a while the CD-R stopped.What is wrong??

N/A 9 of 10 JPG/JPEG Comments: Ive tried quite few cdr in the past with no success at all but after reading the reports on the princo cdr i tride these and they worked great and loaded first time. They are quite hold to get hold of though no of the big online suppliers had any in stock but i did manage to get hold of some from www.swdvd.co.uk but i dont know how long they will have them for some sites were saying that princo have gone out of business.

N/A 6 of 10 Comments: Hallelujah, i eventually find a forum dedicated to the exact problem i have been having with my M105. I have tried countless amounts of CDR + CDR-W media, and have found that either they dont play at all, or the ones that do play, are very intermittent, u have to try and try again, eventually it starts playing again. I have only tried VCD playback so far. I have read and found a lot of useful info on here, which im very grateful for. It seems that the next batch of discs i purchase will probably be the "Datasafe Siver", they seem to be the most recommeded on here, and seem to have had the most success rate so far. I'll let u all know how i get on (or not)

N/A 6 of 10 JPG/JPEG MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG DivX Comments: I've tested cd-r traxdata,intenso,samsung,xeo,dysan and many more; only PRINCO cdr seems to work (both 74 & 80 min); but sometimes the player take a long time to read the disc (you must to open and close the tray a few times). Sometimes skip a few seconds during playback (but rarely (on VCD)) on SVCD the skip is bigger. I used tmpegenc, dvdx & moviejack; and only miviejack gave me some problems. Perdoón por mi inglés; en resumen puedo decir que no es un mal reproductor; con DVD se porta de maravilla; si le metes cd's princo los coge con pocos problemas; pero a veces o tarda un monton en cogerlo o no los coge y hay q abrir y cerrar la bandeja. Suele dar saltos, mucho mas acentiados en SVCD; en VCD no suele dar muchos. Tambien lee MP3 grabados en princo; pero salta un monton; y no lee idtags ni nombres largos. Para pasar a VCD el q mejor resultados da es el DVDx; y tb es tmpegeng grabando con nero.
