CVD? $? 4 days 5 of 10 JPG/JPEG Comments: I bought the player in Future Shop when it was on sale for $169.99. I had some other players in mind but it was love at first sight. It's sleek and compact design, the surprisingly outstanding picture quality, exceptional sound and 4.2 hour battery life made me buy this instead of another $90 player. Also the reputation of Samsung gave me more peace of mind. I used my own home-recorded dvd-r to test the player in the shop to make sure it was compatible (dvd-r is not the most "easy going" format for most players). However, when I played the discs for a longer time at home, I found it skipped a couple seconds every five or ten minutes. At first I wanted to believe it wasn't a big deal because it was easy to guess the few seconds of the skipped tv episode. Later I found that the skip is not for a specific disc but for every dvd-r I played. Also I experienced nothing like this in all other dvd players I have (panasonic, electrohome, Mustek). Since most dvd I play will be dvd-r I had to return it. What a pity, everything else of this player was exemplary. I bought a Mustek MP72 for $90 instead. It is a lot more bulkier, shorter battery life, less crisp and clear sound but never skip!
