CVD? $? 300 days 10 of 10 DivX XviD MPEGISO DVD-MPEGISO Comments: Iv had this player for awhile and it is GREAT. I have not had any problems with it. I am using HDMI and optical. Iv played hundreds of Dvix and Xvids on DVD-r without a problem. The main purpose for this player is to play dvix and i am 100% pleased. As for the Up conversion it works...i say that because to be honest i cant tell the difference of up conversion (on any up-dvd player at 1080p). If this player breaks i will run out and buy the same one over!

CVD? $? 60 days 8 of 10 Comments: I found the cause fot the issue I reported before. It happens only with HDMI if I power on the player before the TV set. It naver happened if I turn the TV set on first. I do not know, is this Samsung issue, Sharp issue, or just incompleteness of HDMI specification.

CVD? $175 4 days 8 of 10 JPG/JPEG DivX XviD Comments: I purchased this player after returning the samsung HD860 for lack of divx playback. This player reads all of my discs which are mainly DVD-R, DVD+R, and DVD+R DL. I was able to fill a DVD+R DL with divx and have it play back without a problem. One disadvantage I found was the next track button does not move to the next file when playing divx. To change to the next file without going back to the menu just click the info button and change the file number. I was also hoping the HDCP hack for the HD841 would work on this player (Angle, 4, 3, 2, 7). This is necessary to do 720p, 1080i, and 1080p over component cables. There must be a simple way to turn this off because the following retailer is turning HDCP off before they sell the player. http://www.samstores.com/details.asp?ProdID=6016 When I emailed to ask about it they said it was being turned off by their engineers and it does not void the warranty, which means they probably dont crack the case. I also asked if it would be posssible to get this feature added to my player and they said it would cost $50. Hope this info help some of you out. There is not much out on this player yet believe me I searched and then decided to just tried it out.

CVD? $150 30 days 7 of 10 DivX XviD Comments: Upconversion to 1080p is avesome (I use it with Sharp Aquos 52" with HDMI). But sometimes when I switch it on, I see some pixels blank on the screen, and have to restart the player. Also, playing some avi files, it does not scale it properly (it stretches them too wide). I need to investigate the reason. Audio is also pretty good (I use it with Yamaha with optical cable). Unfortunately, it can't play VCD (does not recognize the filesystem structure).
