CVD? $? 300 days 10 of 10 Comments: Today i burn first Time Verbatim DVD+R Dual Layer with my new NEC 2510A Firmware 2.15. And my Player Redstar 230 Works properly with Dual Layer DVD. I can´t believe it, but it´s true.

CVD? $60 N/A 8 of 10 Comments: I didn´t test all types of media that are available. Until now I´m really satisfied. No problem with the noise.

CVD? $50 N/A 8 of 10 MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG DivX Comments: I bought this player as a replacement of my old CD-Player. I have no problem with any noise while playing. Loading-time takes a little bit, but not too much. I think it´s a good player for the money, about 59 Euros or even less. Interesting I think is the kind of Sound Field Processor, which enables you to chose from playing the song "live", in a "church" and so on. Unfortunately, the handling of MP3s is a little bit frustrating, as it has no long name support and doesen´t seem to support the MP3-ID-tags. Luckily the displays shows more info than a "normal" CD-player has to offer while playing CDs. It was a good buy anyway.

MP3 VBR WMA CVD? $70 N/A 9 of 10 miniDVD/cDVD JPG/JPEG DVD-MP3 DivX MPEGISO Comments: I've tested the Redstar 230 G. Very nice player, who plays allmost every media. Some DVD+R will cause some problems if the DVD-ROM Bit is setted not correctly. The player "eats" any DVD media, if cheap or expensive. Only some "Intenso" causes big trouble, but they do the same in my computer, so it may be media related. MiniDVD will work, but the stream breaks sometimes. The Player is region code free, no firmware or remote control hack is needed. Macrovision is not deactivateble. The Picture and Soundquality is quite good. Input: SCART/EuroAV SVIDEO Output Stereo (analog) optical and koax (digital) The connectivity is okay, i miss the direct 5.1 Output for analog soundsystems. If you want to hear 5.1 or DTS, you must use a soundsystem with digital input.

XVCD: some xvcd´s have errors of course the bitrate is to high/low this is a real good DVD player! ps: pls visit www.miccom.cc ;)

N/A 5 of 10 MP3 ID3 TAG Comments: The player (230 E) does not support SVCD with two audio streams. Only the first language of these SVCDwill be played. The player does not support long file names, but it is supporting foldes. MPG and MP3 can be selected in the folder to start. The player was sold region code free. SVCD can be played with 1x till 4x speed. DVD can be played with 1x till 32x speed. The player is not silent. So the player shouldn't be a replacement of an existing CD-Player - only an addition.

CVD? $135 N/A 5 of 10 Comments: Plays MP3 and VCD/SVCD very well. DVD is slightly out of sync (video 1/3 sec before audio), so I returned the player.

CVD? $135 N/A 8 of 10 Comments: Good player, with a very good price. Price in US$ is estimated i payed 298DM (German Marks). MP3 playback is a bit unhandy, especially the songsname are some how abbreviated to 8 letters or so and i really can't find if it takes the filename or something out of the ID3tag. Supports VCD 3.0/2.0/1.1 and MR. OKO(!???) SVCD : Up to 4 languages and 4 subtitles Picture an sound quality is for this price absolutely okay, but of of course not top. CD-R brands: all i tested from very cheap to expensive CD-RW brands: all i tested(Verbatim, Plextor,BestMedia) 74min as well as 80min 90 min and 99 min NOT TESTED
