CVD? $300 N/A 4 of 10 Comments: I've had this player for years, and for use with VCD's or SVCD's, I would not recommend it. I've only gotten a few VCD's on aCD-RW to work (took a few times to read it though). Have never gotten a CD-R to work. But for all other uses, this is an excellent DVD player. I only payed 100 bucks for it (factory referburshed), and it was definitly worth it. I love it. Plays DVD's like a charm and has a lot of great features... terrific interface. I love it, but definitly not for VCD enthusists.

N/A No rating JPG/JPEG Comments: This is an old player. I won't recomened anyone to buy this player. I have it for more than a year. And now I bought a new Pioneer player. This player doesn't play SVCDs at all. Plays commercial VCD with skips. And same is for VCDs on some CD-RW (most CD-RW don't work). CD-R is not supported.

CVD? $300 N/A 7 of 10 Comments: Nice DVD player, plays my commercial VCDs fine too but I've tried CDRW VCDs on Verbatim media without luck and on Memorex CDRW media without luck... Both the Verbatim and Memorex played fine on my PC.

CVD? $300 N/A 8 of 10 Comments: For those that frequent this forum and attempting to find a player for VCD and SVCD use, this player is probably not the best solution. However, this player has a lot of very nice features. Excellent picture. "Scene Snip" (tm) which lets you store up to six near-frame-accurate edits for up to 99 titles, so you can eliminate junky scene from movies and make them family friendly. The trick modes a excellent (fast forward up to 60x with clear picture, etc.). So... i like it.

CVD? $300 N/A 9 of 10 Comments: Tryed three diffrent types of CD-R none work but the CD-RW work very well comes out perfect every time also tryed an acer CD-RW and it worked too. used nero 5.5 to burn and burned at 4x it never fails.

CVD? $300 N/A 1 of 10 miniDVD/cDVD Comments: This is a terrible player, AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS. I can only get vcds burnt on rewritables to work in it and it is very hard even to do that. It may take several inserts and ejections before it will pick up the media and sometimes will turn itself off with a loud pop(I don't think that is good for the player). If it does turn off while tring to read the media the only way you get it out is to press the eject button while the dvd player is off. This will eject the cd and then turn the player back on. Perhaps after a few minutes of playing around you get the media to play, don't pause it or the video will more than likly not continue playing when you resume. I also don't think that there will be a hack for changing region codes or enabling the ability to play other media because there is a programing jack on the inside. Without the programing system you can't change anything like region or anything. If you have this player i would advise selling or trading for another

I used 74 min memorex and PNY 80 min. can't get the damn thing to work!. and to top it off, after i tried it, my player skips during commercial dvds. I don't have any commercial vcds to try, but, the manual says they work. It was an awesome player but two weeks after i got it, i tried that vcd so it skips like crazy now. so now it sux.

CVD? $300 N/A 8 of 10 Comments: I tried Memorex CD-RW and it works perfectly everytime. I also tried some no name CDRW and it also worked perfectly. I tried the cursor CDR and it skips very often.

CVD? $300 N/A 8 of 10 Comments: My friend has this player and I tried to play a vcd on memorex 74 mins (blue dye on bottom) and those didn't work at all. However, I tried their 80 mins. with the green dye and it worked, I don't think it paused it all, but I didn't take much time to watch it (maybe 3/4 mins). Hope this helps. It played one (VCD)CD-R Media I burned it's by Cursor 74minutes (got it @futureshop in spindle of 25) but the VCD pauses once in a while but sometimes it doesen't Also tried other CD-Rs like Maxell, Gigastorage and Memorex none work. I read some of u peeps got VCD to work on a CD-RW media i tried one on a Acer CD-RW but failed if anyone else got anyluck playing VCD on a defferent brand of CD-R and CD-RW just post it here..Oh yeah this player plays Commercial Pressed Video CD's
