Plays movies burned to dvd in data form as well as anything transferred to mmc card including divx and wma movies. This is an amazing machine as far as I'm concerned, it's a hidden gem!!

CVD? $60 90 days 7 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-JPG DivX Comments: Exceptional quality for the price. Unit comes with SD and CF card slots on the front of the unit - big plus. However, the unit failed after roughly 3-1/2 months. The documentation that comes in the box is minimal (front and back side of a single 11x18 paper with columns). Troubleshooting for my error (powers up, displays root, and won't respond to any actions) is to unplug the unit for two minutes and if it still doesn't work, take it to a service center where I have to pay for the labor but not parts (91 days to 1 year). I went to RCA's support web site in an attempt to locate additional assistance and found that RCA's support web site does not recognize the model number. To make it even better, RCA does not allow you an option to contact a support center (via phone, e-mail, or web input) for any form of assistance. Really a shame the unit failed. It really is an exceptional unit.

CVD? $70 2 days 8 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-JPG DivX XviD Comments: The one and only possible flaw I see is not having a way to skip to a certain point in an xvid movie like (1:22:34). It may be there and i haven't found it yet, but I dont think so. As far as the remote, works perfectly fine, all the buttons.

CVD? $? 14 days 5 of 10 Comments: I am updating my previous review here. Although the player had very good picture quality and played anything that I threw at it, I returned it today. The fact that the remote didnt work most of the time was just too much to take. I was sitting on my couch pressing stop repeatedly from different angles and even walking to within an inch of the player when I asked myself...is it really worth it? I tried a universal remote with the same results. I bought a Samsung and am totally satisfied so far.

CVD? $100 7 days 8 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-JPG Comments: This is a great DVD player. It produces a very nice picture in progressive scan as well as an upconverted picture. Setting up and using this DVD player is quite simple. The player also looks nice. It has played everything that I have tried. I have brought out some of my Staples brand DVD+R discs and it has not missed a beat. PAL conversion was flawless although it says in the manual that it does not support PAL! Now for the negatives... When watching movies in 720p or 1080i there is a half inch black bar that stays on top of a 16:9 screen. It does not effect the picture but it is annoying. The remote is horrible. At first I was glad to be rid of my Cyberhome remote with all the same buttons. At least it works! This remote is fairly well laid out but you have to repeatedly push the buttons and change angles to make them work. My TV remote programmed for the DVD player works better but still not great. The remote aside I would highly recommend this DVD player...and I have never been a very big supporter of RCA products.
