CVD? $70 1 days 5 of 10 Comments: region hack is nice however. this dvd player only plays dvd-r/dvd+r backed up movies without compression (using dvdxcopy & dvdxcopy platinum), so all my backups minus a few that actually fit on one disc without compression no longer work. time to find a new player.

CVD? $90 N/A 8 of 10 JPG/JPEG Comments: I have in my possession a GE player that is identical to RCA's DRC105N : The DGE 105n. It features Progressive Scanning, it read all the DVD-R I have tried yet and I also tried a DVD+R (just to see if it worked) and it was read without any hesitations. There are certainly better players for a better price, believe me, but this one has a nice look and has progessive scan. I can't figure out why GE copied ( or bought) RCA's model, that's strange. Anyway , great player.

CVD? $70 N/A 8 of 10 miniDVD/cDVD Comments: I am posting this as a VERY preliminary review because so far there have been NONE posted yet. Aparently this is a new(er) model player. I bought it for the following features: Progressive scan. Digital Audio output (coa only though not optical) Claimed DVD+R, +RW support. I can confirm that it indeed supports +R and +RW. Also Mini-DVD, and VCD have tested out so far. Also it handled a Karoke CD+G disc somewhat...there was a glitch with the display of the lyrics. It would show up and then when the second stanza would pop up the 1st stanza would disapear but would then reapear as the lyrics becam highlighted....kinda odd. Partial support, probably a bug in the f/w code that could be fixed in time, and I only had one CD+G disc to test, so ... maybe this disc isn't fully compliant. Bought it from SAMS CLUB online cuz the local Club didn't have any on the shelf. $69.00 Replaces my Mintek 1600 (v2) that would NOT read DVD + media despite the many good reports on that model, and with progressive scan to boot. Obviously alot more things to check out and test, but wanted to get at least SOME info out there on this model since it's sub 100, progressive, and DVD + media compliant.
