CVD? $500 30 days 8 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-MP3 DivX XviD Comments: BIG ADVANTAGES - Easy to use and flexible software - Powerful editing (very easy to use) - Can record and see at the same time (also with timer) - Can shrink an high quality recorded video to a DVD (automatically resample the quality) - Very low power consumption in standby mode (<1 Watt) - Automatically create DVD menus, with templates - It supports DVD-R DL BIG DISADVANTAGES - Poor antenna tuner. Maybe it could be only on my piece, but with low antenna signal it showes poor image quality, shaking and noising (on tv the signal is ok). That's why I changed it with a Philips 3360 (very bad software but excellent tuning). - It doesn't support DVD-MP3 - It doesn't support DIVX - A little noisy - It doesn't support DVD-R/RW (on writing)

CVD? $350 60 days 9 of 10 DVD-RAM Comments: Very easy to use, most logical, auto set up worked perfectly, very good picture and sound, I replaced 1 year old Samsung cost then £180 this looks at least twice as good, hard disc quiet and fast to record. Only complaint bought from Pixmania £236 approx and they shipped the French Showview version which uses different coding to UK video plus, I can enter details manually but not set up weekly recording. Overall very good unit

CVD? $400 90 days 9 of 10 DVD-RAM Comments: unlike in Greece Slovak version works great :) after solving problem with freeze in cuts I can say no problem 9 points because of "flexible recording" in 5minutes steps (in some cases it lost .3Gb from DVD) and that you can not record nor see tracks in time of copying from hdd to dvd regards

It looks like a prototype or it seems it has a software to do a test of the hardware test. you have to get a trash bin close to this recorder because you will fail many times to finalize your dvd. it refuses the TDK DVD ! the unit freezes it seems to work almost good with the Philips DVD-R 8x do not buy

MP3? 256kbit/s WMA? CVD? $400 14 days 10 of 10 Comments: Works great and was only £236.99(including post) at Digital Direct.co.uk. Only tried Verbatim DVD-R DL and DVD+R DL so far. Both worked perfectly. There was a slight pause between layer changes but otherwise played fine.

CVD? $? 3 days 7 of 10 JPG/JPEG Comments: I had before a Philips 610 About this DVR-433H 1/ very complicated to use 2/ some functions on the remote control need to press SHIFT so you must use BOTH HANDS ! 3/ no chapter included autolatically in HD recording 4/ editing of HD boring 5/ the DVD made doesnot display automatically the menu when played on Sony, Philips, or even the Pioneer ! you must press MENU to see it !!! 6/ during recording direct to a DVD the time display incresases and doesnot show the remain time if you want to see the remain time you must press SHFT DISPLAY but the TV screen is now hidden by a big display 7/ the navigator uses small fonts with low contrast difficult to read 8/ when you fill the DVD a little bug in remain space indicator 9/ etc etc i regret to have bought this device - it is good looking but not esay to use and full of problems

MP3 WMA CVD? $? 3 days No rating MP3 long filename Comments: A very nice engine! Very high image and sound quality. True RGB input an output, even at standby mode. Optional auto recording, when a signal is detected on the scart plug. Important for DVB-S. You have to program your receiver only. You can hear the HD and the fan, but the noise is acceptable. The tray of the drive is not too stable, but acceptable, too.
