Great (robust) DVD player with fully removable OSD (hard to find this days).
No GUI (wich is great for me).
Easy to "mod" (region free)
2 Mic input for Karaoke and tone control (This feature works really amazing!)
Supports every DVD* media I'v tryed. |

| I bought this player about 4 years ago. I can play Dvd+R movies on it, but I'm having trouble playing any VCD's on here. Newer cheap DVD players (about $60 nowadays) seem to be the best bet. My newer DVD player seems to play any type of VCD,DVD I have.Nice quality player, but outdated capabilities. |

Hi All:
its me again. I have tested SVCD on this player and it does not work. The player recognises the CD, sees track one and starts playing, but there is no picture. It appears the player does not understand how to decode the video however; it does not stop, it just keep playing with a blue screen showing on my Soby TV.
In short, SVCD does not work.
Cheers,
john |

Hi All:
Have tried the following brands of CD-Rs with this DVD player:
-TDK 700Mbyte, 80- min, x16
-A1 gold(bargin brand) 24x 700Mbyte, 80 min,
-Sony 700Mbyte x32,
-Verbatim 700 Mbyte, 80 min x16.
I tried at the fastest my CD-R can go, x12 and then at x4 using the VCDconverter App from Hauppage(always defaulted to the highest speed for writing) and Sony CDwriter profressional 2000(always using x4). None of the disks worked in the player.
I used the following CD-RW brands:
-TDK, 700Mbyte 80 mintes, x4,
-Sony, 650Mbyte x10.
These worked under all conditions: Using Sony CDwriter professional at x4 and using the CDsonverter from hauppage at the default speeds, x4 for TDK and x8 for Sony(don't know why it didn't use x12). All these combinations worked.
I am assuming this has to do with perhaps the finish of the CD itself. The CD-RW have a blackish-silver kind of colour whereas the CD-R units are either darkish blue-gree, blueish green (light) or greenish-gold. None of these CD-Rs at any speed of writing worked.
Am planning to try more combinations as time goes on.
Cheers,
john |

All CD-RWs that I have tried on the player have worked successfully. These are:
Maxell CD-RW74
Hewlett Packard CD-RW74 (product no.: C4404A)
Memorex CD-RW80 for digital audio (product no.: 829220)
Unfortunately, all of the CD-Rs that I have tried do not work. So far, I have tried the following with no success:
TDK CD-R74STEC (Reflex range for professional studio)
TDK CD-R80ED (Reflex range)
Maxell CD-R74XL |
