Like all the other Pio-Player works only with SVCDs with a max. Bitrate (Video and Audio) of about 2720 kBit/s. My best results are with a Video bitrate of 2560k and Audio with 160k (muxing with bbmpeg and burning with VCDEasy). It is not possible to jump to a selected time-marker (only VCD and DVD). Audio stream selection is o.k. for SVCDs. DVDs with DVB-MPEG-2 (f.e. 480x576) are also o.k. Included DD5.1/dts-Decoder sounds very good. You need the built in decoder for playing DVD-Audio. Very good CDDA and dts-CDDA quality.

I've been playing around with authoring XSVCDs to play on my 646A tonight and I've not been able to get a disc to play without stuttering audio at anything higher than 2550kbit/s video. Dunno how the other guy managed to get 2800kbit/s

In fact my 646A doesn't know about this and plays them very well, but shows a bitrate of 128 kBit although they're recorded at VBR between 128 and 320. This baby is almost perfect.

CVD? $550 N/A 10 of 10 Comments: Got my DV-646A yesterday and I'm chuffed to bits with it. It's played every type of CDR and CDRW I've thrown at it so far without a complaint and the picture and sound quality is superb. Even plays some whacky hybrid VCDs (ie NTSC @ 25fps, PAL @ 23.976fps etc).

CVD? $615 N/A 9 of 10 Comments: A very good player, which plays almost everything. I tested it with a DVD+RW recorded with my Ricoh MP5120A and it play perfectly. DVD-R and DVD-RW compatibility out of the box. MP3-CDs also work fine. The price of 499 EURO is very good. The only thing I miss is progressive out. :-) But who really cares...
