CVD? $550 N/A 10 of 10 Comments: I'm always able to play VCDs and CD-Rs. To my surprise I can play DVD+R as well although this is a new format and this is not mentioned in the tech specs.

CVD? $200 N/A 8 of 10 JPG/JPEG MP3 long filename Comments: Very good machine for the price. One serios problem - does not play SVCD properly, namely it does not keep proper ratio. The vertical size is reduced and horisontal is extended. A circle of the test SVCD disk looks like an ellipse with a short vertical dimension. Everything else is fine. The same problem with SVCD exists in my other Pioneer player, 633A. I tried another 555 in the shop, same problem. I then tried Toshiba with the same test disk and it showed a perfect cirle. The player played all media I tried.

N/A 8 of 10 Comments: Wanted to add that this player does play DVD-R media. Burnt with Pioneer DVR-104 using Nero Software. Menu's and video.

CVD? $350 N/A No rating Comments: Just got an HP dvd200i over the weekend and was able to burn a DVD+R (home video) which worked great on my Pioneer DVD-V555. :-) I also tried a DVD+RW which worked on other DVD video players, but NOT on the DVD-V555.
