CVD? $? over 1 year 9 of 10 Comments: Plays everything fine, however lately it seems that any certain VCD's or SVCD's that I have burned onto Traxdata CD-RW tend to break up towards end of film or even stop before end. These play OK in Nero Showtime

N/A No rating Comments: Bought the player 18months ago in the U.k, cost me £190, as far as I am concerned a bargin, has done everything I wanted it to, I use it as a cd player, plays all my copied discs cdr and cdrw, have written vcd's and svcd's all work great, and just written dvd+rw's and they worked great until my dvd+rw writer went bang, took it back and now have a Pioneer a04- writer and -rw's and -r's also play fine, As far as I am concerned Pioneer can't put a foot wrong, thumbs up from the U.K.....

N/A 7 of 10 Comments: Bought this back in 2000 and gotta say i'm kinda disapointed in it. Paid like 270 quid for it, and I just see some guy saying he got it all with mods and stuff for 200 quid. Loadsa places want around 80 quid for the multi region hack to be installed, ya might as well buy a new player DV-350 for 150 quid region free. Apart from that it's cool, but really crap not being region free, DVD's are well cheap in australia :(

High-def MPEG stills work, prev/next, direct access with numeric pad both from menu and while playing. Unuseful but funny : also plays (black and white) "normal" MPEG-2 files "faked" with SVCD headers :) Great player. 2 bad it apparently doesn't support selectable subs.

The Sound and Picture are brilliant. And XSVCD really works. Maybe not in higher solutions than SVCD(didnt test it), but lower in any case.

CVD? $200 N/A 8 of 10 Comments: I have tested it with a self made XSVCD (Mpeg2 PAL 720*576 Dolby Sorround CBR 1800) and it plays it but in a weird way. The upper two inches are shown in the lower zone of the TV (PowerDVD plays it perfectly)

N/A 10 of 10 miniDVD/cDVD Comments: Hi, This device plays all media (CDR, CDRW) amazingly when I rip my DVDs and encode them to standard SVCD format using TMPGEnc (VBR max 2500). I normally get 45 mins on one CD if there is not too many action scenes. I burn my SVCDs as standard PAL using Nero 5.5.1.8 and a Yamaha 4416s (SCSI). Thumnail menus work but without selection (only by pressing track numbers), therefore just a redundant image! The player is from the UK. Chipped, RCE enabled, Macrovision disabled, region free and lovely in silver (The 535 is exactly the same but black). Only problem is there is no decoder built in. I had a 636d with a decoder, lovely, but no SVCDs so I changed it. My 530 costs £200 (UK Pounds) including all modifications, delivery and a gold plated scart. CVD? $300 N/A No rating Comments: What can i say i had a samsung dvd player dvd-511 what a pile of rubbish, brought this beauty and it plays any vcd i put into it silver, blue, even green cdr and it plays them all crystal clear, any make any format. this player i would definitely for vcd playback.

CVD? $300 N/A 10 of 10 Comments: What can i say, i scouted around for a while looking for a player that plays it all and can fast forward without too many problems, the dv 530 seems to do it all, everything i've tried to do so far it lets me. Only thing i can find is it does'nt resume play on svcd if you stop it ok with vcd's though. ( if you stop it halfway through a movie with a svcd it wont pick up where it left off. )
