And you can go directly to which song you want,For example: If you want to go to song 753 you just enter 753 on remote control(that doesn't work on many other player I have tested).

CVD? $125 N/A 9 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-JPG DVD-MP3 MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG Comments: I have tested the player with several original DVDs and DVD+Rs (Memorex/Ricoh). DVD+/-R are officially supported and there were no problems. Even DVD+RW (Philips/Verbatim) worked. The quality seems to me as very good. I could only test one SVCD but that was played without problems. Pro: MP3/JPG DVDs work if you use UDF disc format, not ISO. Use for example Nero. You can choose between UDF 1.02 and 2.01. Both worked for me. UDF 1.02 had problems with Umlauts/special characters. Contra: The player does not show any information about (S)VCDs, not even the time when playing. MP3 navigation is difficult and impossible without TV. The front display shows only 8 characters, TV shows 30. ID3 tags are not supported.

I tried LG, philips and toshiba and all would skip frames at the last chapters of the dvd's. This dvd player is the only one I found that could play everything without any problems. Made it region free quite easily using the pioneer dv-454 hack. (RCE disks work fine) It also has nice menus. Alltogether a great machine!

I am really satisfied its abilities and I also liked the nice GUI of it. I tested with the following medias which played all: DVD-R: Princo 4x, Eurodata (Sony) 4x DVD+R: Ricoh 4x DVD+RW: Ricoh 2.4x Plays VCD, SVCD, MP3, WMA, JPEG. It displays almost everything on GUI. Time, chapter, audio, subtitle information and current bitrate of DVD as well. The filename and ID3 tag of MP3 files can be seen both on GUI and internal display. Played my home-made VCDs and SVCDs created with Nero 6. JPEG loading is a little bit slow, but it can display up to 8 megapixel photos. (E.g. a 3 megapixel photo with the size of 700 Kbyte loads for 6-8 seconds but it can be 15 sec. if the picture is bigger.) If you have an NTSC movie on SVCD you have to switch manually to PAL in order to play the disk in color. It can be done by turning off the player and turning on while holding the >> button. This player is internally the same as DV-360 which is cheaper than this one, only the design differs. So, Pioneer did a great job with making this player.

Burned DVD video with Nero versions 6.0.0.23 and latest 6.3.0.0, with a LiteOn burner, type 411S (great burner by the way! ;-) Used dvd media: Traxdata DVD+R 4x (media code RICOHJPNR01) Imation DVD+R 4x (media code RICOHJPNR00) Imation DVD-RW, 1x Philips DVD+RW, 2x CD media (used for SVCD's): Philips (90min.) Nashua Mmore This DVD player is a real pleasure to use, just a great player that play's just about anything! :-)

N/A No rating Comments: No problems with DVD & VCD but has problems with SVCD. I select the display to 4:3 letterbox because of 4:3 TV. And when I play SVCD the picture is pressed on top and bottom. I read about this problem in comments for previous model of pioneer. Hope somebody know how to resolve this.

N/A 9 of 10 JPG/JPEG MP3 long filename Comments: I have tried TDK and Verbatim DVD-R and eProformance DVD-RW. It works fine. The dealer made it region free in front of me and he used a special remote, not the pioneer one. It was over in a few seconds. The picture quality is great when you use RGB scart. The sound is ok on TV, but I don't have 5.1 system so I can't realy tell. If you want to play mp3 cd and have pictures (covers) on it you have to turn of the "photo viewer" feature, because the player will recognize it as JPEG cd. Enjoy!

My first player, so I dont how it holds up to other players.

MP3 CBR WMA CBR CVD? $175 N/A 9 of 10 JPG/JPEG Comments: Got this brand new model last week and replaced it for my Sony-DVP-S536 which stopped working. In one word, near perfect compared to my old Sony. + It's quite, VERY quite + It's quick, chapter changes, loading,... + Thusfar played all my self burned media without any problem; DVD+R (Philips, imation), DVD+RW (Philips), SVCD (Maxell CD/RW), Audio CDR's (Mmore, kodak, philips, nashua) + Played Jpeg-cd and MP3 + It stays cool, my old sony got very,..very warm after playing a dvd-movie, the pioneer stays cool. In the store they took it out of the box and connected it to the power, did some things on the remotecontrol and made it region free. (could not see which combination they used to do that) Untill thusfar no negative things found. Great player.
