CVD? $100 N/A 10 of 10 Comments: THis thing is the balls, it plays every vcd and svcd (i have over 400 movies) i can through at it. I have tried all types of cdr's and they all work but my preference is Imation, buy them by the spindle. I burn with fireburner for cue and bin files and Nero for drag and drop easy with mpg files I paid 129.99 for mine almost a year ago but now i think if still available at some locations they are under $100.00.

CVD? $100 N/A 9 of 10 Comments: had this player since christmas. has worked great since then. today i purchased a sony crx195a1 40x12x48x cd r/rw drive. burned a vcd using sony 700 mb cd and nero burning rom. the vcd works without any problems! this is the only one i have tested so far but if i run into another problem i will update.

CVD? $130 N/A 10 of 10 Comments: I give it a 10 because while not perfect it is probably one of the best ones there is to get. It plays my burned VCDs fine, played my burned SVCDs fine too. No skipping or anything. I didn't test subtitles of any kind for (S)VCDs. Loading times are low so you aren't waiting forever to do anything. There isn't much to say about it since I have no complaints. Everything works great. Also I did not test X(S)VCDs. I have heard they work though. And it doesn't play MP3s, but why would i want it to? I would recommend buying this player if you are looking for one.

CVD? $130 N/A 10 of 10 Comments: Hi... this dvd player is awesome... i got the svcd subs test file from here and i cant get the subs work... plays all the cheap cds and black cds i have.. even a cdrw comp usa i have to make tests... by the way... an advice for averybody... BUY A DVD PIONNER!!!! will no regret! Thanks... peace! :D

CVD? $159 N/A 10 of 10 Comments: I originally bought the expensive panasonic with progressive scan for around $260, said it would play vcd, and everything. I burnt a bunch with no luck. I returned it, and purchased this unit. The first one I burnt played perfectly. I use TMPGnc to convert AVI to mpeg, then burnit in SVCD format with Nero burning rom. Usually takes 2-3 cd's. I lower the bitrate to 1850 instead of 2520. Once in the while while converting, you run into a audio problem, and need to use virtualdub first to extract a wav file, to use in the conversion. I have around 20 movies here, it works great... I reccommend it!

I suggest you get this dvd player!

I have compiled some VCD's using nero, and worked with CompUSA's cheap-o CD-R (premium 12X, 80min, 700MB sku#276254), and walmart FujiFilm CD-RW (multispeed 1X-2X-4X, 74min, 650MB). I have no problems with skipping, track changes, or anything. The only problem is that they didn't autoplay (which isn't a big deal to me). This player is great, since i had just gotten rid of my Toshiba SD-1700 (doesn't work with anything - except DVD-R).

CVD? $159 N/A No rating Comments: I only use the black Memorex CDRs because they are alot more durable when it comes to sunlight and scratches and my music cds as of 1998 only get opened once, go straight into my cd burner, get copied and go back into the case, before, using regular cdr media, in a car, suspectable to dust, fingerprints, on the seat in the sunlight, and on the floorboards, dont hold up long, when the black cdrs came out in 2000 I have since switched because they dont get affected by sunlight and the sracthes dont affect them as bad, and in my new pioneer dvd 341 they work fine for music, as for my japanese anime vcds, all of them played fine, so I am able to tell everyone, the Memorex Black CDRs work ok with this player.

CVD? $159 N/A No rating Comments: this player seems to have replaced the the dv-343 in the stores. according to best buy, this player is region 1 only (unlike the 343). it will not play a pal vcd let alone convert it to ntsc. Just thought i'd put this up here for everyone looking for the 343 and thinking this was the same player. if your looking for a good player try and find the 343, you can still find them online.

CVD? $180 N/A 10 of 10 Comments: It works great with CD-R and CD-RW for VCDs. Picture quality is awesome with a home DV camcorder video. I played the cheap blue CD-R from CompUSA that were 100 for $14.99, they play excellent quality. I also tried memorex gold x 12 CD-R and Memorex Platinum CD-RW, both work fine.
