It plays everything you can throw into it! :) I bought it to replace my Samsung 709 (reads nothing at all but original dvds and cds)!

N/A 5 of 10 Comments: Problems with SVCD over CD-R: images freeze after 30 minutes of playback, then I must turn off/on or in some cases it jump to another chapter of the film. No problem with DVD.

N/A 8 of 10 JPG/JPEG DivX Comments: Nice player, cool slim outfit too. It sells for aprox $140 including a 36 months warranty over here. Plays DVD/SVCD/VCD very well. If you have trouble playing SVCD make sure you change your tv settings to 16:9 in the menu, so you will have no fat face effect whatsoever. Sound quality is also very good. I truly recommend this player, good for the money.

For those who has SVCD playing format problems: "The picture are squeezed vertically giving everybody a fat face. " try this: - in my Pioneer I put TV format: 16:9 (I have 4:3 TV) - play SVCD disk - when TV set plays SVCD in format 16:9 (squeezed totally) I change display format (in TV set not in DVD) for 4:3. It works and display format has proper proportions.

(Kenwood 3060 was good, but more expensive and shows filenames only in 8.3 format) Actually I don't care too much about audio quality (anyway, it's only MP3) - that's why I kept my Marantz 63KI CD player. And video is of no interest of mine.

N/A No rating DivX Comments: Works very good with DVD (NTSC and PAL), VCD (NTSC and PAL) but it does not work well with SVCD (NTSC nor PAL). The picture are squeezed vertically giving everybody a fat face. No DVD-settings or scart-cables have resolved this. The CDs are working well on my Pioneer 535. This DV-2650 are going back to the store.
