DVD+r Arita, Mirror, Datasafe, datawrite, fws DVD+RW Traxdata & TDK DVD-r Ritek printables Cons:- Forgets input souce ie RCA or SCART if power switched off. Not Multiregion, but just make a regionfree backup and that plys fine :)

CVD? $550 N/A 9 of 10 miniDVD/cDVD DivX Comments: Bought in winter 2002. At that time it was the CHEAPEST All-in-one Home-Cinema package that features Dolby Digital/DTS/Pro-Logic II. Dolby Digital 8/10 DTS 9/10 Dolby Pro-Logic II 10/10 (FANTASTIC!!!) Plays DVD-R (Bulkpaq, Princo, Ritek) Plays DVD-RW (White Label) Plays CD-R (all brands, all modes) Plays CD-RW (all modes except VCD) Plays VCD, SVCD, XVCD and XSVCD. Fit a two-hour movie into a 80-min CD: Bitrate settings: Video MPEG-2 QSIF VBR 900kbps, Audio MP2 CBR 128kbps. Author as XSVCD. Quality at bitrate this low is average, but it plays from start to finish.

Ways it could be improved: multi-region be able to play native DIVX and that about it... no go get one

N/A 10 of 10 JPG/JPEG Comments: Bought the Pioneer DCS 303 home cinema system a few months ago and have been totally blown away with it. Sound quality is superb and crystal clear, picture is is also superb, was watching a movie the other night and my 13 yr old daughter thought the birds whistling in the movie where outside, she actually asked twice. It has played everything I have thrown at it, you can,t get better for the price. Try hi-spek on the internet for prices if you are thinking of buying, great service.

CVD? $600 N/A 8 of 10 MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG DivX Comments: Alas, it reads SVCD only up to 2500 kbps. Anyway it read anything I tried, also some old, not standard XVCDs and VCD . Excellent image quality with DVDs, and even better sound quality (450W max power output rms) with its speakers. Finally, it acts as an amplifier (with dolby surround I/II support and dolby digital) for 2 stereo IN and a digital IN for all your sources! That's great!! I connected my computer to the dvd-player with an optical cable, and now I can play games in the glory of dolby digital! I'm very happy with this box, indeed!

N/A 7 of 10 Comments: Have not bourght the system yet, but intend to do it in the near future. Tested with my own burned DVD +RW (burned on a HP 200i burner and toke advance of the delivered burning software from HP)and it works fine. The brand og the DVD +RW is Verbatim DataLifePlus.

N/A No rating Comments: I made a VCD for friens (who own the player) and after inserting the VCD the player went wild. Wouldn't play anything anymore (not even DVD) After a while it started playing DVD's and CDR's with MP3's again. Anyone had the same problem?? and knows what to do about it??

Nero and gearpro don't appear to work with this player.

CVD? $500 N/A 5 of 10 Comments: since my above post, this little babies stopped working, started making a horrible whizzing sound. I've taken it back to the shop and they replaced it with a new one, which unfortunatly only appears to play Phillips/samsungs -dvd-r and dvd-rw's. so its worth checking your media on the player before you buy it. Also the guy who did the 2nd post what make were the dvd+r/rw disk ?
