N/A 8 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-MP3 DVD-RAM Comments: Nice looking unit, sounds good, good picture quality, easy to set up all cables colour coded, not bad lengths of wires, radio, aux with optical out/ dig in via coxial connection, base unit flat like a small unit, dolby/dts a few extra modes overall not a bad system for being an all in one amp/dvd player and looks great. Have tryed dvd-r/rw and dvd+r/rw datawrite/memorex/traxdata all worked fine burnt with sony dru500a/recordnow max. However the thing that is the major dissappointment in my opinion is the remote control, no open/close tray you have to use the one on the player, no zoom button you have to go to setup whilst playing the dvd/ the power button just turns it off. Overall not a bad systems a few minor issues on the remote side and with a coxial digital in would have liked to see an optical in instead. 8/10

MP3 256kbit/s WMA CVD? $200 N/A 8 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-MP3 MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG Comments: I bought this dvd surround-sound system at sam's club for $218. Works really well. Some of the tech specs are: 5 X 50 Watt Speakers 100 Watt Powered Subwoofer It included all of the speakers and acts as an amp+dvd player all in one! I don't use this for dvd-video playback because i dont have a tv hooked up to it, but ive heard its pretty good picture. 2 things that i did NOT like about this player are: 1: NO digital audio imputs. this makes me kinda ticked because i have a computer with a state-of-the-art sound card in it. i did want to use it for surround sound on that and for in my room, but i guess since it has neither SPDIF or Optical imputs, i cant do that. also, the time it takes to connect all of the speakers is so long, its best installing this player where it will stay for a long period of time. 2: NO DVD-MP3 Playback! this is the only other thing bad about this. i burned my entire cd collection onto a dvd+rw in mp3s. it tries to read the disc a few times, ejects the bay half way twice and pulls it back in, and makes a clicking noise like the laser-motor is at the end of the moving area. it eventually locks up the player and all you can do is go up to it and hit standby a couple of times and hope that it turns off. probably not a good idea to do this because it sounds damaging. i tried it twice to give a little more background on how i made the dvd-mp3, here is what i used i burned a imation dvd+rw in 2.4x on my TDK 420N dvd+r/w burner (the best dvd burner out there, by the way. even better than the sony!). i wrote 1.01 GB of mp3s on the dvd using nero in the data mode. i did NOT use udf mode. waited a while and then tried it in my system. no work. all in all, if you can get this system for the price i got it at ($218), by all means, its a gem! its also really nice because of the powered subwoofer. the amp is in the sub and not the dvd player, which means unlimited upgrading from 100 watts! hope you find this info useful!

N/A 1 of 10 Comments: I left every question as haven't tested or don't know because the thing died 2 weeks after I bought it. Oh and philips needs to put some digital inputs on their units.

CVD? $200 N/A 8 of 10 Comments: Amazingly - this played every format I tried perfectly. I have yet to test everything - but All I was mighty amazed it played burned dvd-r's on really cheap media (princo 1x). I would advise this dvdplayer to others :)
