Mine uses a different code hack. These methods worked well for mine:

Method 1:
Open the disc tray
Press SETUP
Navigate to the preferences page
Enter 138931
Select the region using UP/DOWN

Comments:
This is yet another Philips player that is easily region code hackable, and does a great conversion quality for PAL/NTSC, BUT it does not seem to support Divx. It should, because it looks like the U.S. "cousin" of the European (French specifically) model 5100. I even found one site that had the firmware for the 5100 (although only one file, not the usual three), and tried to "upgrade" this unit, with no success. Very strange also that the Divx.com site had originally shown this player as certified (although can't seem to find it now). Looks like the Philips 642 remains the King.
