It seems to be essentially the same player (DVP323 = European version?). I bought mine for 99 euros but took it back. Built quality wasn't exactly what I expected from a known manufacturer like Philips. The power cord didn't plug to the bottom, though this was no problem as there was contact. A minor thing that also caught my attention was the remote control's battery slot "carriage" which was loose and small plastic part. But most of all, this player created ticking noise shortly after it had started playing cd/dvd (it played a few seconds well in the begining of the track and then started it). I had a chance to test another one and it did exactly the same. In a quiet room it's really annoying. Noise comes from player itself not from the speakers. I think it's the read head that moves unintentionally - shouldn't it just be following the spiral track? Just if there had not been this ticking noise it would had been a great player (plays almost everything and has a quite nice functionality as well). There should be a headphone connection in a portable player though.
