Could someone reccomed me which DL media work correctly with S75? I noticed, that not all DL+ media work with the S75 player. Is it just a problem of media/player compatibility? Couldn't the problem also be in the burner or just the firmware version in burner? And has anyone tried DL- media yet? I don't visit this forum on regular basis, so I'd apreciate your answers on mu e-mail.

Although in the user manual stated that this model can’t play DVD+RW, it can play my home videos which are written on DVD+RW (SONY and Verbatim media) smoothly. Picture is sharp and vivid. Sound is good either (BURR-BROWN DAC). I like the custom picture setting that allows me to set any parameters to turn up picture quality manually. Tested list - CD Audio - MP3 and WMA (recommend to use HIMAT) - Jpeg photo CD - VCD - SVCD - DVD+R authoring by DVD Workshop 1.2 speed 2.4x - DVD+RW authoring by DVD Workshop 2.0 speed 2.4x

All in all, this player provides probably on of the best value for money ratios. However, I have a few points to add. Due to the fact that the player is able to play so many different types of cd's/dvd's, the loading takes awfully long. The S75 cannot play mp3-dvd's and jpg-dvd's. too bad, my old player (Cyberhome 402) had no problem playing them. Once you have a few thousand pictures/songs it's worth having such a function the cd-text feature is just a joke. You need to have your TV switched on to see the data. That is absolute nonesense and deserves a rating of 1 for this feature.

CVD? $200 N/A 9 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-MP3 MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG DivX MPEGISO DVD-MPEGISO Comments: yo. fine player. but it has one WEAKNESS i've so far discovered, and that's it's S-VIDEO output. i don't know what the problem is - maybe the driver is too weak/cheap - but picture via S-VIDEO out has those strange dark lines/stripes sometimes. they must be some signal-reflections or similar, because they move (change) only if the picture moves (changes) too. and i can ensure you it's definately the player, because my sony DVP-S7700 does not show this effect when connected to the same TV with the same cable on the same input (TV). one other thing that is not perfect is the reduction of the "I-frame-flashing-effect" found on many original DVDs. the DVP-S7700 does a better job here too. of course the problem are the lousy encoded DVDs that suffer from this effect, but i prefer a player that shows a better image over a player that shows exactly what's on the disc. the picture is really very sharp - too sharp for lousy noisy DVDs, but there the video-equalizer can help!

Despite to information, it works fine with almost every type of media: cd-r/rw, dvd-r (Princo, Verbatim, Emtec,LG), dvd-rw (just few seconds more for loading with Emtec), dvd+r (Verbatim). I'll try creating a sort of photo cd o cd with jpeg, then mp3: I'll tell you in next days. Problems: 1)it works fine with some vcd and bad with others...still don't understand difference, maybe bad burning with those media. 2)not very easy setup... 3) cd-text only on tv (its display shows you've loaded a cd audio with cd-text, but no info shown on the display) Audio: DTS & Dolby Digital decoders are implemented, so using even the analogic output 5.1 connected to the amplifier, it's easy to feel the improvment of sound. I was lucky, it was the last piece on my city!!! Bad news: here in Italy it will be substitute by S47 (about 155-160 usd; 129euro) that has not dts inside... Important: every new player by panasonic in 2004 will work with high-mat as standard. Greeting from Italy and sorry for my bad english... Joe

Plays SVCD VCD .Customised zoom lets you fit any wide cut film ,fit your TV perfectly .Haven't been able to try several of the features such as DVDRam but they're supposed to work .Brilliant player that suits my needs now and for a while into the future. CD text on audio CDs displays Artist Album and track details so you know exactly whats on . I'd give a rating of 10 if only: 1. It would be possible to show the CD-text (love that feature) on the display. Pacho wrote it should do that, can someone confirm this and tell me how. 2. It won't show correct aspect ratio of JPEG's taken from a digital camera. 3. It doesn't seem to support zoomin of JPEG's. (sometimes you really need to zoom in) Otherwise a great player!!! /Petter

I have been using Memorex and can't get either dvd-r OR dvd+r to work on my S75... Please, tell me what brand of dvd-discs I should use to never have any problem....both dvd-r and dvd+r and brand. When I used a dvd+r, the player said it didn't like this kind of disc. So please, let me know all the brands of discs that you actually HAVE TRIED on this particular player. Thanks in advance.

N/A 10 of 10 Comments: I purchased the multi-region version of this player from Richer Sounds in the UK. They originally sold me an Acoustic Solutions player which they said would play all formats. However, it failed to play RW discs so I returned to the store with a set of dvd media and we found that the Panasonic played them all. I have played the following media ripped with DVDXCopy Platinum and burnt either with DVDXCopy or with Nero: DVD+RW:Datawrite DVD+R: Verbatim Datalife plus DVD-R: Traxdata DVD-RW: Verbatim Datalife plus

Problematic are CDs Verbatim Super Azo Crystal, ConMark (from Conrad), Multidisc Ultra Green MX, otherwise Verbatim with printable surface, Memorex, traxdata are ok. I have less problems with DVDs, it plays every DVD which I have used. Another cons: random play (shuffle) of music CD is not accessible from fron panel (two button clicks from rc), it does not play MP3 on data DVD ant it can not show JPG pictures in portrait orientation. I reccomend.

CD Text only works on TV Screen. Tried Princo 4x DVD-R; all worked fine except one disk (perhaps burning failure because of Nero) A few problems with playing Memorex 2x DVD-R.
