CVD? $125 over 1 year 7 of 10 DVD-MP3 DivX XviD Comments: Not bad over all but has problems with DVD being a little dirty or scratched. Have real problems reading burned DVD's. DVD+RW aren't recognised, DVD-R play but is very choppy and pixelated, misses chapters and is in B&W. All burned on LG GSA-412B burner. But after reading the manual again http://panasonic.com.au/content/library/files/F000782.pdf (see p5 on Disc information) it really does explain there what can and can't be read.

MP3 WMA CVD? $? over 1 year 10 of 10 DVD-WMA Comments: For this kind of money (about 70 euro) I didn't expect much. Player has been working almost two years perfectly. Playing at least 5 movies a week. Unfortunately I got the infamous H07 message. Surfing the internet learned it is a common problem. But hey, it's a consumable. Scrap it, and get a new one. And stop complaining to Panasonic and leave them to spend more time for serious complaints. Well done Panasonic! Good value for money!

MP3 WMA CVD? $175 over 1 year 7 of 10 JPG/JPEG MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG DivX XviD Comments: Has some problems reading certain Maxell DVD-R discs. These work on other dvd players, including the Lite On Drive in my PC. Video plays on these but the image is highly degraded with lots of dropouts and a lot of general problems. Had no problems with Memorex DVD-R and Fuji DVD+R discs.

CVD? $125 over 1 year 7 of 10 JPG/JPEG Comments: Always have been happy with the RV32. Nice picture (though the zoom and slow/fast motion quality was better on my Toshiba) and sound. Just recently got into burning discs. So far I've tested various types of DVD media and I think I've finally found the one I can rely on to play on my RV32. My results: Optik 8xDVD-R (25 spindle from Factory Direct): half of them ended up as unplayable blanks; the other half froze up after about 10 minutes Memorex 8xDVD-R: Playable but half way through the recording, the sound and picture starts to show digital break up. Tried burning at 4x but it didn't help. Kodak 8xDVD+R (25 spindle from Future Shop): A little better than the Memorex but also had digital break up in the last few chapters of the recording. Burning at 4x improves the quality somewhat but not perfect. Msonic 4xDVD-R (10 spindle from Staples): Won't play. All copies froze after a few minutes. Finally Msonic 4xDVD+R (10 + 50 spindle from Staples): Not a single problem (knock on wood) after testing about 20 copies. The RV32 handles all of them no matter how high the video compression. So I don't know if I it's because they're 4x discs but I don't feel a need at the moment to try any other brands. Msonics 4xDVD+R's are pretty cheap and readily available at Staples so if my RV32 likes them then I'll just stick with them. Oh and I was using DVDshrink 3.02 with Nero Express.

CVD? $150 over 1 year 6 of 10 MP3 long filename Comments: it wont play DVD-r(generic), DVD+r(memorex), DVD+RW(memorex) if I create an image to the HD with CloneDVD3.0 (CSS free but no image to DVD burn option) and usually burn to DVD with Pinnacle 8.0 (great interface). I have a Sony burner DRU-530A. None of the DVDs worked and I always had NO COMPATIBLE DISC message. I am trying to copy with other tools and one that worked was the DVDFab (good quality by the way!), as I commmanded a direct copy to a DVD+RW. I will be trying other methods and softs (DVDXCOPY premium is next) to see the results. I have DVDfab CSS-free monitor on as well. Have anyone tryied to burn seasons DVD? Having a hard time to find a nice soft that deals with it fine.

CVD? $150 over 1 year 7 of 10 Comments: Updated Panasonic firmware to 440. Using a Pioneer 108 firmware 1.14, DVD Decryptor, DVD Shrink and Nero 6.3. Mitsubishi +r dl, Verbatium +r and -r, TDK +r, +rw, -r, -rw work flawlessly. Cheap Laser brand -r's show corruption at the end of a movie (tried a whole 10 pack), they work fine in two other computer dvd players and two other stand alone players. I should say that the Pioneer burner and nero auto set +r disks to dvd rom bitsetting when copying a dvd video.

I recently went to go and purchase some more and there where none left so I bought another brand and sure enough they freeze. These mistumi dvd+rw's are awsome, I've recorded them with nero 6.3 Alcohole 120% Roxio Easy Media creator 7 and they all work beautifully. All being burned on a TDK 420n

CVD? $100 over 1 year 2 of 10 MP3 long filename Comments: This was a great player until the warranty ran out. It played everything I threw at it, without any problems. However, just a few months past the one year mark, I get the infamous H07 error, which means the motor is seizing. A quick Google search reveals that this is not uncommon. Panasonic will not acknowledge this problem, and it would cost more to have the motor replaced (with another faulty Panasonic motor, mind you) than to buy a new player. This is officially the last piece of Panasonic equipment that I will ever purchase.

CVD? $100 330 days 6 of 10 Comments: I would have given the machine a very high rating until 2 weeks ago, when I started burning DVD-Rs using new Prodisc DVD-R/4x media. (Earlier, I had used 2xDVD-R Prodisc media.) The DVDs that I burned on 4x media play fine in my cheap US Logic DVD Player, and in a new Sony RS525 DVD player, but do NOT play in the Panasonic. The Panasonic is unable to read these discs. Tried burning at 2x and at 4x; made no difference. The Panasonic can't read them.

VCD discs - Sony 700Mb CD-R: Plays first half of movie fine, skips and pixellates towards the end. - Maxell 700Mb CD-R: Plays first half of movie fine, skips and pixellates towards the end. DVD discs - Sony 4.7Gb DVD-R: Constant pixellization and sound corruption. Unwatchable from beginning to end. - Ritek 4.7Gb DVD-R: First half of movie plays fine, jerky playback, ocassional pixelization and sound problems nearing the end of the movie. Both CD-R and DVD-R media were all tested in other DVD players... and played fine. MP3 CD-R & CD-RW discs play perfectly. CD-R/RW discs were burned with an LG 12X/8X/32X CD-RW DVD-R discs were burned with a LiteOn SOHW-832S DVD-/+RW DL drive. I haven't tried DVD-RW, DVD+R or DVD+RW discs, but i'm told they work by changing with bitsetting to DVD-ROM. However, I have my doubts, considering that this player prouldy touts it's DVD-R 4.7 compatibility on the box and in the manual and it's so far been completely incapable of playing any discs I've burned without serious problems. This is a good DVD player for playing movies, but not for home-made DVDs. The DVD-R 4.7 compatibility claim is very questionable judging by my experience.

The disc worked in my DVD-ROM drives on all of my computers and in my XBOX.

Fantastic picture quality and mp3 support. Have not tried a DVD mp3 disc yet. Hopeless with SVCD but who cares when you have great DVD-or+ support.

Updated the firmware (from 410 to 440) now it's even reading Philips DVD+R and the image quality is excellent. Light and easy to carry around.

CVD? $? over 1 year 4 of 10 Comments: Can anyone help me with this thing (I'm somewhat new to this). I just bought a Sony 530A. I have burned 3 DVD's using DVD shrink and Nero 6.0. They come out fine and play on my computer. But the Panasoic can't read them. Also had problems reading VCD's in the past and have never gotten it to play a SVCD. I am using Memorex DVD-R 4X discs. Am I missing a setting in Nero? I assume the discs are fine since I can play them back on the Sony. Is this correct? Thanks in advance for any insight. P.S. American version

N/A No rating DVD-JPG Comments: My RV32 panasonic plays everything well except SVCD (jerky image and sound) no JPG, no AVI, no DIVX, no PAL no other region than Region 1. Panasonic Canada answered by email about region the same stuff about protecting Hollywood but nothing about me the buyer of the machine.Had I known about that limitation I would not have bought. I will never buy Panasonic Canada anymore for what they are ... you can imagine what!

This player did not work well with Pine DVD-R 4x. I switched to Ridata DVD-R 4x using this software: DVD Decrypter 3.2.1.0 Nero 6.3.1.6 with Recode 2 I burn with Recode 2 at 2x or less. I have never produced a coaster. DVD player plays these Ridata DVDs. Also I have burned Maxell DVD-RW at 1x with great success with same software mentioned above.

I've had it a couple of years now, and I've always found it to be temperamental. Most discs play fine (regular DVD movies bought from stores), but some will pause occasionally unless they are SPOTLESS, even sometimes when they ARE spotless. I burned a few short movies onto CD-RW discs and one clip played fine, on the other, the picture froze about halfway through (but the sound kept on going). The player would not play an MPEG movie the entire way through on Sony gold 700MB CD-R discs. It got 3/4 of the way and then the picture starting breaking up badly. The disc was completely clean. All discs were burned on an LG 12X/8X/32X burner, and all discs play fine in other DVD players. Honorable mention goes out to the MP3 capabilities of this player. It played every song i threw at it, but it's a shame it doesn't handle ID3 tags or have a shuffle mode for mp3.
