I didn't have any success with Dual Layer medium until I tried Verbatum. I burned a disc from ripped VOBs [not an image file] and the resultant disc played flawlessly. I used Nero 7.x, bitsetting for DVD-ROM [the default]. I have also had success with Memorex Dual Layer when burned from an image [DVD-Decrypter].
In addition, this is one of the rare players that WILL shuffle play mp3's BETWEEN FOLDERS!!
If this unit played DiVX/Xvid files and MP3-DVD's it would have received a perfect 10 rating. |

| DVD player works with most formats but not DVD+R DL. Player will play legal warnings & previews, but will freeze before main menu loads. The locked-up DVD player will require turning the player off then on again before disk can be removed. These comments refer to F-61A (silver) version purchased @ Costco for $114 USD. |

| I bought this DVD changer for 2 reasons: 1-I wanted a DVD changer 2-I needed a player that would play dual layer dvd +r. I have to say though that it was a gamble because this site did not rate this player compatable with Dual Layer media. Much to my satisfaction, it plays dual layer disks excellently. It plays all my +R media without any problems. I have burned all disks at fastest possbile speed without any adverse effects. I also like the simplicity of the menus, and the broad compatability of media. This was a brand new in the package purchase off ebay for $50, and I have been very happy. |

Great Player - Played everything I had to throw at it. Took very little time to determine formats and all menus worked really well. Honestly, I couldn't be happier with this player.
I was concerned as the label says only DVD-RW & DVD-RAM formats are supported so I came to research here. Now I can confirm it had no problems playing my DVD+RW's, and a SVCD I made on a Sony CD-RW650 (4x).
All DVD+RW media I tried was 1x (I have an old burner) I tried HP, Memorex & Verbatim media - all worked without a hitch.
Bought at costo for $114 with a $14 online rebate, so $100 A/R. Get it now as my store only had 2 left! This is the model DVD-F61A. |

| It plays everything I've tried (mostly +R burned with a variety of programs). This thing plays more dvd's than the software players using the drive I burnt em with!! I have taken back two dvd players cuz they had problems with certain disc's that were no problem for the F-61A. Got it at Costco for 114.00. |

| The price, functionality and operation is simply great. I decided to add-in comments on this product after I saw another posting claiming picture problem using component video output. I just bought mine on 1/4/04 and have not seen any problem with component video output. This player is better than the Sony DVD player I bought just a few years ago for $425! |

| Unit works great. Everything so far play. I have only one problem with it, the component video gives me squiggy lines. Tried 2 units both has the same problems. Bought the unit at Costco for $114. Other than that, it is a great unit, but I have to return it. |

| Used Verbatim DVD-r & -rw, worked like a charm. I burned them on my new Optorite drive. Haven't had any problems with anything i've burned so far. The mp3 player works great and it plays cd-r's with no problems. |
