CVD? $300 N/A 7 of 10 Comments: Purpose of this comment/review is to warn people about the actual 'burning' of the image. Using CloneDVD to control the whole DVD backup process onto a DVD+R disk my A100 player could not recognise the disk (other players could though). However, using CloneDVD to write an image and then Nero to actually burn the disk meant the player could play the disk correctly. This is true of RICOH and PHILIPS DVD+R disks I tried. Considering the age of this basic player I am amazed that it does it at all!.. Spot on Panasonic!

CVD? $450 N/A 10 of 10 Comments: I'm new to the whole burning process and was looking for information on the Panasonic A100. Specifically to what format's it will play. Reading the reviews on this site has helped some, but I see thta some have had luck with some formats and others have not. N/A 9 of 10 JPG/JPEG Comments: Player was fixed by Panasonic in 1999 for macro chipfix due to problems playing some DVDs, since then this is THE most reliable DVD player I have owned (I have 8 dvd players now btw). This player will play DVD-R and DVD+R with out a glitch. Using a Sony 510a DVD burner and Fuji DVD+/- 2x.

N/A 7 of 10 Comments: I tried a Memorex DVD-RW, but it wouldn't recognize it. Some of my friend's Memorex and Fuji DVD-R's would work, some with better results than others. I have had 100% success with Ritek DVD-R's (4x). Considering I got this player in 1997, I'm almost surprised anything works, but it does!

N/A No rating Comments: I tried Comp-USA CD-RW 2X and burned a VCD disc. That worked very well. I also tried to burn a cheap CD-R as a VCD, but that did not work out. The CD-R was those cheap once that you get in spindels of 100.

MP3 WMA CVD? $350 N/A 5 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-MP3 MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG Comments: This was my first DVD player, purchased in 1998. This is a time when the "cheap" dvd players were $599. I bought the A100 from Best Buy as an "open box" special for $360. Over the years, the unit has played commercial DVD's perfectly, but does not like any CD-R/RW disks I've tried. The reason I decided to post about this player is it's ability to play DVD-R. Since I gave the player to my in-laws, I only recently tried one of my home made DVD-R's and was VERY SURPRISED that it worked! Now it is Nov. 2002 and I doubt anyone will benefit from the above info, but you never know!

N/A No rating Comments: Works with Smart & Friendly CDRWs but it does hang a little on identifying that there is a disc in the drive. Haven't tried other CDRWs yet.
