Comments: Great player, often starts with subtitles on but most have that fault no matter who makes them. sampo design afaik but i'm not sure which its based on. Would love to find a list of all the clones etc. Plays mp3 fine - long filenames non existant - uk models not sterio but we tend to get shipped the french one which is nicam, so if you do a firmware upgrade you need to use french firmware or you get no sound.... Easy fix just use french firmware then put menus to english - its not a problem. Copying from hdd to dvd+r wont work if the recordings have different compression settings , ie you recoded one episode in LP then another in SP, you cant put both on the same disk as the dvd format does not seem to support mixed compression If it let you, it /would/ work as all players will play mixed compression that I have tried, maybe in a later firmware they may let us break the rules and save on disks... Macrovision is on and I cant turn it off :( Multiregion is a remote hack. noisy fan spoils a near perfect unit. The remote control is a joke, it needs rifle sights to aim it at the unit, if anything is in the way, like air, it can affect the operation.... To see firmware / chipset go to tv viewing, press (setup)-(3)-(2)-(1)-(add/clear) wait about 1 second between presses Mpeg chipset: LSI8652 Default password is usually 3308 Yes you can read the password if you have forgot it by doing the above, dont tell the children.... lez@bigfoot.com
