N/A 5 of 10 Comments: I've had this player for about 2 yrs but only recently played dvd-r on it. It doesn't appear to like them - freezing/pausing etc. Also, when I press the open/close button it is tempermental whether it loads, opens or just whirrs at me! ritek g4 ridata 4x film reel print and also datasafe ritek g4 4x dvd-rs recorded at 2x but please note that these play brilliantly on my son's Ronin P807 (great player!) Record them at 4x - brill on the Ronin but won't even reaf on the Pacific, Feedback from Pacific owners welcome please.

N/A No rating miniDVD/cDVD Comments: This player as sold in Asda from early 2002 (or before?) onwards for about £90. Macro-hack does NOT work on later versions (purchased about april onwards). Region hack via remote, enabling region selection as well as 'All-region' settings. Built in Dolby Digital 5.1 decoding, down-mixed to two-channel output ONLY. No Dts decoding. All types Cd-r tried (imation, Sky, verbatim, Sony etc) fine. All Cd-rw tried (philips, BASF) fine. vcd and svcd fine authored with Ulead dvd writing plug-in (in video-studio). Menu playback fine. ALso fine with purchased VCD. CAUTION: Nero-burned discs tempramental, requiring fiddling with compatability settings and menu pages still tempramental. Not tried XSVCD/SVCD. Overall not 100% with Nero-burned discs, though they do all play (though with flaws in menus) once the compatability settings are correct. Tried burning cvd with Nero. Discs cause machine to 'crash'. mp3 playback fine with CBR~96-160kbps. not tried VBR. Not tried DVD-r, -rw, +r, +rw or -RAM
