CVD? $20 1 days 9 of 10 DVD-MP3 MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG Comments: I am actually impressed with this cheap unit. I paid 25.00 Canadian for it. It is for my sister. My only main concern was that it played dvd+r, and dvd-r. And they did, no problem. I've returned at least 6 dvd players in my time because of various issues. For example, some will play a LIVE CD and have a small break between songs, instead of flowing nicely from track to track. I find that annoying, and seeing as all dvd players, play cd's, this shouldn't be an issue. I tried a live cd in this nova411, and it flows from track to track without any issues. It plays store bought dvd's as well. What I am impressed by, is the fact that it played mp3's off a dvd-r disc! The only error I found today was, that when skipping tracks on that DVD-R MP3 disc, it tends to skip. BUT only when changing tracks, so if you play a whole folder, no problems. But if you scan the titles from folder to folder, it will pause, then come back. The solution for this is to stop it before changing tracks. What more could I ask for for 25.00? I have an LG recorder, and a Pioneer player. I also have a cheap model in my bedroom which stinks. I rate this up there with some of the better ones I've sampled. Only drawbacks, no display button, and the unit looks cheap, but if you don't care about that. I suggest it. However, let's see how long they get use out of it before it breaks down, I can't comment on that as of yet. I'll cross my fingers.

CVD? $? 300 days No rating Comments: This DVD player sometimes played the pirate DVD copy(from China) with strong spinning noise. I guess mostly like it used the cheap mechanism to handle uneven surface of disc.

CVD? $? 120 days 8 of 10 Comments: Not quite as versatile or as sterdy as my APEX which i loved but died after a good 3 years, that thing played more backups than real movies. Shame really, windex fixed it a couple times, anyways, this is an even cheaper substitute. Seems to work well i haven't tried a DVD-MP3 disc, but i will :D. So far plays everything i've thrown at it.

CVD? $30 1 days 9 of 10 Comments: While this player seems to be cheaply manufactured (flimsy cd tray but then I didn't expect much for my $40 cndn), it played a movie burned to a dvd-r disk and a vcd disk of cartoons I burned on a cd-r disk. I'm happy with it so far.

CVD? $40 30 days 2 of 10 Comments: Bought at FutureShop for $50 Cdn. Used mainly with Pine DVD-Rs w/ MPEG1s (VCDs burned on DVD-R). Noted a LOT of freezes (had to turn the entire machine off to erset) and skipping or botched up (blocky) decoding during playback. Played the same DVD-Rs in my Dytek and didn't have a problem at all. Maybe this machine is picky with medias, but regardless, I will be returning this unit. Also note that one of my friend has the same player, and his remote control broke after 2 months.

CVD? $30 30 days 8 of 10 JPG/JPEG MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG DivX MPEGISO Comments: This dvd player read every authored media i put in it that i made so far. I have had no noticeable issues with it. You have to be carefull when you read mp3's to make sure to inactivate surround. VCDs in cd-r and cd-rw work perfectly SVCDs work in cd-r and cd-rw also i have not tested anything else except store bought DVDs and they worked fine with good quality rendering. I think it is worth the money, but according to others it has a high return rate.

CVD? $? 7 days 1 of 10 Comments: I got one of these things and had to return it because it did not work with standard purchased DVD. The replacement also did not work so I assume that there is some defect with the lot shipped to the store. Anyway it did work with princo 4x DVD-R media and commercial double sided, single layer discs. But not well. It made a lot of noise and touch 30 seconds to start playing a disc. I would avoid this brand / player in the future.
