Shitty remote. Trashed it for a Phillips DVP 5960. Have not looked back.

CVD? $30 120 days No rating JPG/JPEG DVD-JPG MPEGISO DVD-RAM Comments: Player freezes pix after about 20 minutes of playing, sometimes several times in a row. Sometimes recovers by itself but will freeze again. Subtitles randomly turn on. My Toshiba SD-2200 remote powers it up when powering up or down the Toshiba. Does give a reasonably good quality pix and adequate sound. Good remote, well laid out. Fairly easy to use. Did region-hack with no problems but haven't tried a PAL disc yet. Overall a very disappointing player. Very cheap design. Takes far too long to read a DVD before playing. O.K. for a bedroom or a kids' player. Truly a throw-away piece of junk. I traded in 3 of these before I got one even this good. Will not ever buy this brand again. Ticky Tacky Chinese Junk!

CVD? $20 5 days 7 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-MP3 Comments: Fry's Electronics had these on sale for $14, after rebate. It plays DVD+R, and supports MP3's on a DVD+R media. The SVCD's I have all played correctly. The remote is laid out well, and has a good range. The player is one of the smallest I have seen. The unit has ventilation slots on the bottom only.

CVD? $40 N/A 1 of 10 Comments: paused on factory pressed dvd's and dvds that I made using dvd shrink and nero 6. paused numerous times after about 20 minutes of play. Probably over heating. Unit is very small and very cheap. Remotes used while in same room with player would activate the dvd player. IE I would use the tv remote to turn the volume up and player would stop playing. Brought back to walmart and got a sony ns575p great player for under $90.

CVD? $40 N/A 1 of 10 Comments: The pausing just got worse even with brand new dvd's. Brought back to walmart.They had a whole basket of these returned. Go figure.

CVD? $40 N/A 5 of 10 Comments: Bought this player from Walmart for 43.00. To replace the Apex that died.They had no more Apex of any kind.The only complaint is that it pauses from time to time on DVD's. I guess this is a common flaw from what I see of other posts. I'll give it another week or two and if it gets worse it will go back.

CVD? $40 N/A 1 of 10 Comments: This player is a piece of junk bought one at walmart video froze several times while attempting to play brand new DVD's returned it. Got a replacement unit same thing happened. I wouldn't buy anything made by Norcent ever again. I wouldn't recommend this player to my worst enemy. PURE JUNK MADE IN CHINA.

CVD? $40 N/A 9 of 10 Comments: Works great so far. Only problem has been playing back a DVD+R recorded at 8X. This is probably a problem with my burner and not this player. I'll burn one at 4X and see if it plays on this player.

CVD? $50 N/A 8 of 10 Comments: works fine so far. got it just after xmas. plays vcd and svcd fine. plays dvd-r just fine too. haven't tried raw mpeg files yet. plays PAL vcd's fine. only complaint so far is that the player gets loud sometimes, which makes me think that maybe it's not gonna last long. if it takes a dump on me, i'll either get another cyberhome ch-300 or a region free player from ebay.

CVD $40 N/A 8 of 10 JPG/JPEG DivX MPEGISO DVD-MPEGISO DVD-RAM Comments: I also bought this DVD player because there were no Apex players at Wal-Mart. This player is a replacement for a Pioneer DV-250 that went bad after 4 months. It plays everything fine except if a disc is really scratched, it may freeze. Overall, a good player.

N/A 9 of 10 Comments: Bought at Wal-Mart for $44.00. Needed it for a 4th DVD player. Plays everthing I have tried. I use it mostly for VCDs, DVDs, and home made music CDs. I am satisfied. My only complaint is it was made in China. I hope it was not made by political prisoners.

There were no Apex left, so we tried this one! Plays very nice, and the unit has the rca cable and coax audio with s-video!

CVD? $30 N/A 5 of 10 JPG/JPEG DivX Comments: Bought at Wal-Mart. This apparently replaces the DP-312. The internals have changed from the DP-312 and the box now states up to 480 lines resolution when the older DP-312 supported greater than 500. Since I keep SVCD backups of almost all of my kids DVD's, SVCD support is very important to me. This player will play SVCDs, but chokes when the bitrate drops below 1500Kbps. The video becomes jerky. There is also a noticable change in color temperature when the bitrate moves up or down. There is no support for SVCD or VCD subs. I tried both. This player also does not support more than one alternate audio track on SVCDs. This may not be a problem for most people. It plays pressed DVD's fine, but for some reason it automatically activates subtitles on some pressed DVDs. It is not consistent though, some disks don;t cause the player to do this while others always do. Very strange. Overall this would be an ok player, but the lack of SVCD feature support as well as the strange subtitle issue, means this player is going back to Wal-Mart. I have an AD-1500 for comparison and this player does not have any of the flaws of the above.
