N/A 9 of 10 JPG/JPEG Comments: Good player for such a reasonable price. I use this player when I can not play my DVD/SVCD/MP3 DVD+R/RW, CD-R/RW burned movies/music with DVD622 of Philips. As with my "kababayan", I also bought this from Philippines. Region code is already free, don't know if Macrovision is also already hacked. Just wish that this kind of player could also play DivX/Xvid format, but I guess I need to buy another standalone player for those formats or a wire/wireless medial player that will play all of my media from my PC is also a better but more expensive solution. The player plays DVDshrinked, DVD2SVCD converted movies, DV2SVCD/DV2DVD authored home made movies on CD-R/DVD+R/RW and also XKVCD/XKSVCD formats. If you happen to drop by in Asian country, try to get one for yourself or as a gift.

CVD? $175 N/A 7 of 10 Comments: Im from the Philippines and I bought a home theatre version of this brand, NextBase. It comes with 5 speakers and a subwoofer. I find the product very good coz it plays even pirated DVD's VDC's and Audio CD's. I made a few comparison of the sound quality before I bought this and I found very less difference with the other branded players. I only have to buy an active subwoofer to add more bass sound though. But generaly, its a home theatre system for the low budgeted. NextBase actually is an OEM and they manufactured electronics for Philips, Sanyo, Zoran, etc.

CVD? $50 N/A 8 of 10 Comments: The Nextbase DVD-9000 player is awesome...I got it from Fry's electronics for about $57 bucks. On the box, it is only labeled as DVD/VCD/CD-R/CD-RW/MP3 but it infact plays MUCH more than that such as SVCD, XSVCD and more. If you want a good performer, and a good deal, I would definitely consider purchasing one of these dream machines. If you already have a dvd player, get an extra one, and buy one of these for your room or for the kiddies. You CANT go wrong for $57 bucks... =)

CVD? $70 N/A 8 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-MP3 MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG MPEGISO Comments: I purchased this unit at Fry's on 11/6/02. Plays most of the major formats I've put into it except for a few. These formats have not worked: MPEG1/2 file with no authoring Kodak Picture CD DVD-MP3 DVD-VCD DVD-SVCD I tried using the Region and Macrovision hacks posted by Salva (8,4,2,1 on remote), but it didn't work. I opened up the unit and it uses a Zoran Vaddis video processor. It has no discernible date code that I can see. When I pressed the OSD button with a disc ejected, it displayed "SILICON V1_01 ZA9n" Maybe this is the firmware version? Hope this helps trying to figure out a Region/Macrovision hack? The only real complaint I have about the player is the 8 character limit on MP3 filenames. Makes it hard to navigate through songs! Otherwise, I'm happy with the player. It's black, fairly slim in size (3.5"), and reasonably priced. Hopefully a Region/Macrovision hack for my unit will be figured out soon!
