CVD? $90 N/A 5 of 10 DivX Comments: For bought DVDs it's ok, but if u burn ur own video DVDs/VCDs/SVCDs then i would never buy it again, the error correction is shit. I have to burn my CDs on 4x speed. With DVDs it's more worse, u realy don't know if ur 2x speed DVDs runs correctily, then it happens that a 4x runs correctly, so like i said, i would never buy it again. But it gets 5 points for good handle with original stuff. N8mare

No hick ups, no locks. Exchange the original remote and use an "all in one" remote.

CVD? $80 N/A 8 of 10 JPG/JPEG MP3 long filename Comments: I bought this Player in Germany at "Karstadt" for 90 Euros. They call this modell "ViewFun". You can order it also on their homepage. The front design is a little bit different to the regulary V56-L but it's the old V56-L-Hardware inside. The V56-L rc and macrovision hacks work!!! This player seems to play everything. The picture quality is OK but not as good as on expensive brands. The only thing I'm missing is the optical output!!! Great design, good price...

You must first make your dvd-burner compatible to change the bitsetting. This can be done with a firmware-flash. I have a NEC1100A and downloaded a firmware that makes it possible to change the bitsetting. Its also possible for the sony DRU-burners. Succes. Pieter

N/A 5 of 10 Comments: Got it for free from Comcast (formerly AT&T Cable) for subscribing to ther cable service. It's worth about what I paid for it :( Biggest irritation - it gets stuck playing DVDs. Usually an hour or so into the film. Either completlty or moves at a couple frames per minute with bit's of audio. Often gets stuck in the same places on certain DVDs. Sometimes can be unstuck by fast forwarding back & forth. Initially blamed it on oveheating - suspended on matchboxes - made thsit less frequent, but still happesn. Cleaning the disk helps, but not allways. Keeping it switched off with a button, rather then remote betweeing viewings also seems to help a little. Can't wait to get rid of it.

Ich wollte zuerst den Mustek V56S kaufen, der Verkäufer hatte aber nur noch den Mustek V56L-2C für 99 Euro im Lager, den er als großen Bruder des V56S bezeichnete, also kaufte ich ihn. Auf dem Karton sind folgende Leistungsmerkmale gedruckt: - Schlanker DVD-Player - DVD/VCDCD/MP3/CD-R/CD-RW/SVCD/DVCD-Wiedergabe - Verbessertes optisches Abtastsystem zur Gewährleistung von Disk-Stabilität und Kompatibilität - 10-Bit/27 MHz Video- und 96 KHz/24-Bit Audio-DAC-Leistung - Kompatibel zu Kodak Picture CD und JPEG-Lesefunktion Nach dem Auspacken habe ich mir die Rückseite angeguckt und festgestellt, dass er nur die nötigsten Ausgangsbuchsen hat: - Scart - S-Video - FBAS (1 Video-Cinch-, 2 Audio-Cinch-Buchsen) - 5.1 Kanal digital Ausgang (coaxial) Weiterhin beherrscht er das Vor- und Zurückspulen mit 32facher Geschwindigkeit, man kann zweimal in ein Bild hineinzommen und er kann NTSC-DVDs auf einem Multinorm-Fernseher abspielen (manche SEG-Player können NTSC-DVDs auf einem normalen PAL-Fernseher wiedergeben). ................................................ Negativ: - Die deutsche Übersetzung der Menüs ist manchmal etwas haklig. So haben die Chinesen "No Disc" syntaktisch korrekt aber semantisch falsch als "Nein DisK" übersetzt. Man verlässt das Menü auch nicht über einen Menüpunkt "Verlassen" sondern über "Ausgehen". - Einige Menü-Punkte werden im Handbuch nicht erklärt. Was ist z.B. eine "Winkel Marke" oder eine "Vorgabe" - MP3-Dateinamen werden nur mit 8 Buchstaben dargestellt, was ziemlich nervend ist. - Schon beim ersten Film "Das fünfte Element" wurde ich enttäuscht. Die Bilder sind zwar scharf und kontrastreich, aber Farbtreppen und körnige Strukturen waren auf meinem 70cm Telefunken-Bildschirm (blackpearl) bei besonders hellen, gelben, bei schattigen Bildern und schnellen Kameraschwenks deutlich zu sehen. Küchenschürzen mit rechteckigem Muster quittiert der 56L-2C mit Moire- Mustern. Ebenfalls schlimm reagiert er auf übereinandergeordnete silberne Metallflächen ,wie z.B. von Kühlergrill aus Chrom, Lüftungsgitter, etc. Somit muss ich www.dv-rec.de rechtgeben, dass DVD-Player mit ESS-Chipsatz schlechter sind als die anderen. - Das Farbpumpen im Menü der DVD hat mich negativ überrascht. Positiv: - Der Film "Duell-Enemy at the gates" wurde problemlos ohne Farb- und Bildfehler (Farbtreppen oder Bildpumpen) abgespielt, obwohl die DVD leicht zerkratzt war. Liegt wohl daran, das keine grellen oder hellen Farben oder Farbwechsel vorkommen. - Schlanker Player - Das sehr leise Laufwerksgeräusch - Macrovision 3 und 4 lassen sich über Setup Next Prev Next Prev abschalten, wenn man über die blauen Cursor-Tasten 3001 in 3000 und 4001 in 4000 umwandelt (5000 ist beim 56L-2C schon eingestellt und steht somit für das Freischalten von S/VCD-Eigenschaften) - Auch der Region-Code lässt sich durch die Wahl von 255 freischalten. - Kann NTSC-DVDs auf einen Multinorm-Fernseher abspielen (aber wer hat schon einen Multinorm-Fernseher) - Als größerer Bruder des 56S müsste er laut Computer-Bild DVD-R/RW, die mit einem Pioneer AVR-05 gebrannt wurden, abspielen können (sicher bin ich aber nicht) - Spielt selbstgebranne Audio- und MP3-CDs, egal von welcher Firma und mit welcher Beschichtung die CD-R auch ist Fazit: Tja, DVD ist eben nicht gleich DVD. Für ein sauberes, ruckelfreies Bild muss man wohl doch mehr als 99 Euro abdrücken. Laut Zeitschrift "Video" kosten solche Laufwerke nun mal mehr als 300 Euro. Ich kann DVD-Player wie Mustek, die auf ESS-Chipsätzen basieren nicht weiterempfehlen, weil mich Farbtreppen, Moire-Muster auf rechteckigen Mustern und Flimmern bei Darstellung von verchromten oder silbernen Metallflächen im Film ziemlich nerven. Möglicherweise ist dieser Effekt bei kleinen Fernsehbildschirmen nicht so ausgeprägt. Für Leute, die keinen Kopierschutzdekoder von Conrad.de, Elro.tv oder ELV.de haben, sind Mustek-Player der neueren Generation ein "Muss", weil sich der Kopierschutz einfach über das Menü abschalten lässt. Mithin wohl der Grund für den Verkaufserfolg. Bei einer analogen Kopie verschwindet der Farbtreppen-Effekt sowieso (nicht jedoch das Flimmern von silbrigen Metallflächen und Moire-Muster auf rechteckigen Mustern).

Well yesterday i bought one... and it reads...vcd svcd...only the dvd start blinking in white and black...well i changed for a new one...and it start loading the media and nothing happens....continues loading loading loading...!!! Tomorrow i'll change for another...but i will try it in the store!!! I'm tired of unpacking and packing the units!!!

If you're thinking about buying this one, i should do it. The only negative point is that he doesn't support mp3 long tag, but that's not really important for me. Excellent dvd-player.

CVD? $150 N/A 2 of 10 JPG/JPEG MP3 long filename Comments: Extremely wothless manual. Doesn´t contain any necessary information except for what´s obvious to anyona with half a brain. I´ve had my player for two weeks now, and it is starting to act funny. I had it switched because my previuos player didn´t work. It was the same model and it didn´t play some of my regular CD:s. That one I got in replacement for a Mustek DVD-V560, which of course didn´t work either. It just wouldn´t play the DVD. I think i will have to replace this one too. Certain movies does not play satisfactory. The picture is stuttering, which one can see especially clear when there is rapid movement. This problem has so far always occured when I´m watching region 1 DVD:S, but also once when i rented one region 2 DVD. Another problem is that the movie sometimes simply stops. After a minute it starts playing again -at another part of the movie! It doesn´t happen often, but it´s irritating for sure. The mark does quite often disappear when I`m choosing in the menue. If I press Stop and then Play again it usually comes back. But sometimes I have to try a few times. Once the picture went completely black when i was in a menue, and I couldn´t return unless I restarted the whole DVD. A few times CD:s has just stopped playing. It´s like I have pushed a Pause button. But they don´t start unless I press Stop and then Play again, and then they starts playing in the middle of a random song! As you probably understand I´m not thrilled with the DVD:s I have experienced from Mustek. You can one if you want a perfect gift for your worst enemy.

However i bought two of the same model and it is having major problems!! It wont play VCD's original's it says "Wrong CD" or the copies, some DVD's it is playing but no volume is coming out of it. DVD-Burner: Teac DV-W50E (DVD-R, DVD-RW) Problems: I can't view the original DVD "Der Schakal" whith german language. This Player can't control the RootMenu on this DVD.

Mp3 is supported also it can display jpg-pictures stored on the mp3 disc. By DVD-R the cheap princo 1x work , but not as is should be . There are some times some blocks. with the princo 2x (maxell ID) this is even worse. Verbatin DVD-R works without problems
