The brand of my player "is selectron" but is the same model as mustek or yukai.

N/A No rating Comments: With regard to poor remote control (this applies to any remote) Open up the remote control , rmove the "LED" and extend it forwards in the casing, you will now find the remote will be 100% improved!!! the case is masking the beam width of the i/r emmiter! Someone says that it can play MPEG2 ISO, MPEG2 files droped on CD-R without authoring. I found out that it is WRONG, the DVD player I just bought CAN'T do it.

MP3 VBR WMA CVD? $125 N/A 7 of 10 Comments: This unit played correctly all original DVDs and CDs I threw at it . Also ALL VCD and SVCD I encoded myself. Audio and Video quality is good for the price class. Sometimes you can see minor glitches during layer change, but that does not bother me. I'm not giving a better score only because the unit can't read DVD+/-R and DVD1/-RW I master with my brand new Sony DRU500A burner. I used both Nero 5.5.10.0 and Recordnow Max 4.5 without success. For comparison, the same burned DVDs run perfectly in my Playstation 2. I will probably sell it to buy a more compatible player....

The problem is realy from the Mustek because I tried several other players and almost everyone played everything I tried... My sincere advice is... DON´T BUY IT, IT SUCKS!

Tried with VCDs, SVCDs, XVCDs, XSVCDs, MP3 CDs... You must burn more than 100Mb of data on your CDs and the Mustek DVD-V562 will read everything... Mp3 menu is not so good. The remote control works not very well... Good image quality for that price. Ciao! Luca from Italy

Also hacked the region code via remote, and have succesfully played region 1,2, and 4 DVDs (haven't tried other regions). Burnt a VCD using a 15min sequence from a DV camcorder (converted to MPEG1 by Presto Videoworks), with succesful results. MP3 function also works great - player seems to find all files in all directories on my discs. Cost £89 from www.ebuyer.com , although I don't think they sell the player any longer.

It has played everything I have thrown at it, I do not own a PC so I buy all my media over the net the prices have ranged (depending on the quality of the different discs) from next to nothing to what i would consider fairly expensive. I bought this player because of its ability to play everything & it does exactly that. I have only had one disc not play and that turned out to be a defective disc. The only minus is that the remote control has to be angled straight at the player sometimes! I am looking to buy a PC soon so I will post a reply on the items i Have not tested yet. What more do you want? the V562 is a very cheap & cheerful player that does exactly what is says it will It certainly gets my thumbs up. CVD? $100 N/A 6 of 10 Comments: I have bought this Player a half year ago. All VCD and SVCD´s works fine. Player is just a little bit too noisy and it reads DVD´s sometimes not one first time. Good Quality but bad bad German Translation. But a problem that makes me wanna scream is: DVD´s often just working until the middle of Film, than it becomes Problems to read. In most cases, it makes a complete shutdown. That means, cut the power, wait a few minutes and it keeps going (mostly). Firmware is not available so far, says the Mustek service. They have no idea, what this problem is. I hope that problem will be soon solved.... Evil

And also no RGB connector. Macrovision ?????? LOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im recording with an Hauppauge PVR 250 TV Card (very nice hardware) and use the german drivers and the how to make a SVCD. Real Nice Results with this player. For this price you can´t get much better.
