CVD? $? over 1 year No rating Comments: I just applied the region-free hack to my series C Memorex. It worked like a charm. Even better, the player seems to be able to do PAL-NTSC conversion. A very unexpected and nice surprise.

CVD? $30 1 days No rating DVD-RAM Comments: So far so good. Plays everything I've thrown at it. What I am most exited about is that it plays my PAL discs flawlessly. Terrific on the fly conversion to a NTSC tv set. This was an added bonus as I only was looking for a cheap player for occasional use. Hopefully it wont crap the bed too soon. ;)

CVD? $40 21 days 2 of 10 MP3 long filename Comments: There is no folder support for MP3 files. VCD and SVCD plays poorly with lots of stop and starts. My Apex AD-1225 plays these discs perfectly. What a gyp!

CVD? $30 1 days 9 of 10 DVD-MPEGISO Comments: Good player for the price - $25 after rebate from Sears. Needed a player that can play MPEGs from a DVD and it works very well. Tested DVD-R, DVD-RW and DVD+RW disk that I burnt with Nero and they all worked well. Also played a DVD+RW from our Apex DRX9200 recorder. Remote is rather small for my big fingers but I plan on buying another one for the price.

CVD? $30 1 days 10 of 10 DVD-MPEGISO Comments: This is my second MVD2022. I took the first one back to Sears and exchanged it for the display model. This one was manufactured April 2004. It plays DVD-MPEGISO files perfectly, including fast-forward and rewind scanning up to 16x. I bought this unit specifically to play back MPEG files I recorded with my computer's PVR card. I got tired of having to author the MPEG files into DVD-Video format before being able to watch them on my Toshiba DVD player. Works like a charm, and for $25 after rebate it's practically free.

The display unit they had there -- which I tested -- worked fine. This is going back!

Plays everything I've tested-MP3's, VCD's with burned .wma,.avi,.mpeg off net, DVD's, Photo JPEGS etc. Built solid, quiet transport. Great features-progressive scanning, coax optical out, s-video, component video, 4x zoom, 16x ff etc. GREAT deal! Buy one!

MP3 WMA CVD? $30 7 days 9 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-JPG DVD-MP3 MPEGISO DVD-MPEGISO Comments: Plays just about everything I have thrown at it except for .AVI and .WMV files - but who cares - convert them if you really want to watch those files on your big ass 32" TV and not on your lame 17" monitor! I didn't even think about viewing .JPG files until I was literally doing this review and I realized I had a bunch of my pics backed-up on DVDs and CDs, so I tossed it in and "voila"! Very nice feature. I had also backed-up a bunch of stupid .MPG video clips on some CDs and gave that a try as well - it worked - sweet! I don't have any DVD-RW or DVD+RW discs, but with DVD media so cheap, I don't plan on it either. Would give this bad-boy a 10/10 but it lacks LCD display and FF/RW buttons on the actual unit - but it does have "component video" output and for $25 ($35 - $5 coupon - $5 rebate) this thing is awesome! Why spend $100? You can't go wrong! I went back to Sears and bought 2 more!

Since I've only used it for about 2 hours, I'll refrain from a formal rating but my prelim rating is a 10. It seems to play just about everything but DivX (I have a Philips 642 for that), including DVD MP3 & DVD MPEGISO. Picture quality on DVD is quite good. SVCD quality is a bit blocky, better than the Philips but not as good as my Apex 5131. MP3 playback is good and includes random play but no shuffle play. JPG quality is a bit harsh. Unit is quiet & appears well built. No panel display. Discs load & read very quickly. Navigation within a video works well with track & time searches. Menu navigation is responsive. The remote has many useful buttons logically laid out but the buttons are small. I've tried quite a few players including a recently returned Daewoo 9100 that froze frequently. At first look, this is one of the best I've tried. I will rate after using a bit more.

CVD? $? 1 days 9 of 10 Comments: Bought at Sears yesterday for $39.99. I had been looking for another Apex 1110W, but Wally World has stopped carrying them. My only complaint so far is that this 2022 doesn't have MPEGISO. Besides that, it plays my vcds and svcds nicely. Better picture than the Apex.

CVD? $40 1 days 8 of 10 JPG/JPEG MP3 long filename Comments: Played all my svcd/vcd and my dvd-r and dvd+rw. Someone in a prior report said it played wmv/asf but I couldn't get that to work. Good deal for the money I think. Seems a lot like my 2 Akai dvd200bl in terms of screen menus and the way it supports all my media. Got mine at Sears for my son to use.

CVD? $40 14 days 5 of 10 Comments: This player, while playing everything I threw at it, had problems as it continued. With normal DVD's, the player would jerk occassionally on scenes. With VCD's and SVCD's, the picture became increasingly pixelated. The same scenes would play fine on my old Apex 1100W (which, unfortunately, died because the kids left a DVD in and burnt out the motor). So, I returned the player and got a Philips 642.

CVD? $40 2 days 8 of 10 JPG/JPEG MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG Comments: This will play WMV/ASF and MPEG video files burned to data CD-Rs the same as MP3s. It supports cd directories, but only shows the first part of the file names. I've been using silver Memorex 52x 70min CD-Rs. It seems to be a decent dvd player. I'll post additional info when I try different formats.
