CVD? $50 over 1 year 8 of 10 JPG/JPEG Comments: Originally bought this player For £70 2 1/2 years ago. Played everything I put in it, then after about 2 years went pop. Bought a few cheap replacements but had to send them back as they couldn't play my old copies. Found this again in a shop for the knowckdown price of £30 so bought it again. Again it plays everything I throw at it, no matter the media I use. Even if it fails again after 2 years I won't complain, not at this money.

CVD? $60 N/A 10 of 10 Comments: ok have played a bit with this dvd player and here are my results plays standard home made dvds plays svcd burned from bin & cue files and mpeg files burned with nero. Had a lot of problems with vcd but cracked it in the end here's what to do 1 what is the vcd file ie disc image,bin & cue files or simple a mpeg file 2 if its anything exept a mpeg file then you will have to follow the next few things 3 using vcd gear extract the mpeg from the file its easy and is free on the net cant go into using but it an easy program 4 open nero and burn as a cd rom (iso) its the first one in the list in nero burning rom 5 if you have a mpeg file just follow whats in 4 OK thats that ps if you have a rw dvd you can burn to that also a rw cd

CVD? $70 N/A 10 of 10 Comments: You get what you pay for. Obviously, and for this machine you don't get to pay very much. Having that in mind, it's not a bad buy. I'm not experienced with DVD-hardware, but the Matsui 225 is definitely an alternative to VHS. The biggest drawback in my opinion being it's lack of support for VCD, although it doesn't seem to have any trouble whatsoever with SVCD.

CVD? $125 N/A 9 of 10 JPG/JPEG MP3 long filename Comments: I have tried various brands of dvd-r and it plays them no problem. I have also played dvd-rw and dvd+rw on the player but I cannot get it to play a dvd+r at all. I have used various brands. Luckily, my pioneer 106 writes both dvd-r/w and dvd+r/w so it doesn't matter so much I will have to stick with dvd-. But if my writer only used dvd+ media, then I would be very annoyed indead. For this reason I am rating it 9/10! Aside from the +r it is a very good player!

N/A 8 of 10 JPG/JPEG Comments: Have just bought this tiny litle machine on the "mid day sale" on ELGIGANTEN (Gothenburg) For 399 SEK (~44 €). After a brief test i can just say god value for the money :) Have another 3'd party player as a main (Dansai 852) and plan to have this as a secondary unit, and feel it will do great for that!! only cons so far is the lack of a display on the front panel.(can i demand that for this price?) Found a region hack (i havent tried it yet) on http://www.dvdhacks.co.uk/index.asp: Turn unit on. Open the Disc Tray. On the remote control type 349734. Press the number of the Region you require, 0 to 6. (0 = All Regions) The unit will now play multi-region DVDs. If the unit is reset or the power left off for a prolonged period of time it might default back to Region 2. Simply repeat above to regain Multi Region capability. Br Stephenwolf

Doesn't play VCD at all and unable to find anywhere to download a hack to fix this. Bought from Currys UK for £60 and was given the free region hack by them. Excellent for the price.

CVD? $80 N/A 9 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-MP3 Comments: i brought this little beuty few days ago so far the only complaint is with some media e.g data write classic the red ones only its plays but makes a funny noise after a short while it goes away it plays every thing i put in it vcd svcd dvdr kodak photo disk the picture quality is a lot better than my old dansai1010 its also small enough to put in a bag to take away i use mine working away from home so its ideal. at the price £59 from currys it gets my vote
