CVD? $100 N/A 9 of 10 Comments: Have tried various brands of DVD-R's with good success. Did barf on my TDK DVD+RW's. Only real complaints are the bad menu system and occasional system hang-ups.

CVD? $250 N/A 6 of 10 MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG Comments: I shuld be pleased with this dvd machine cos it works with anything I put in it, it can even play mpg movies directly from disk. It don't need to be vcd mode (it's the same meny as when playing mp3). However there are som flaws that cannot be overlooked. First it's plastic and looks, feals cheap and makes hollow sound when tray is opend/closed. The remote is a mess, buttons all over so you hardly can operat it in the dark first months or so. Now to more serios drawbacks, the output sound is very low when plaing dvd movies. I have to pump up the volyme high and then I hear hiss sounds, not good. The mp3 meny is a joke, only way to make it work is to have this player in mind when burning the mp3 disk and put files in group named folders. Then make file names as short as possible. If the file names are longer than 8 didgets it's shortend. I don't like the way it playes normal musik cd's. My 10 year old yamaha does it better. All in all if you want a cheap dvd that works under all conditions this is the one for you. If you are a movie connoseur and want quality, look away. ==================================== Hidden Options: 1, Press Setup (no disk in tray) 2, Press Stop (or Paus if you have old firmware) 3, Press Skip Left & Skip Right Now a secret meny appears were any region or free (bypass) is avalible, allso you can deactivate macrovision. Note that if this meny is opend again it's reset to default mode, MV on and region 2.

CVD? $380 N/A 9 of 10 Comments: Great player .. plays everything i have. Every VCD & SVCD i have. Also plays all mp3 cd´s i have. Very good remote control as well. Can control the TV without any adjustments to the remote control. Only bad thing is that the player is not reginal free. Mine only plays region 2 DVD´s I´m very happy with this player.
